I always look forward to this one. Here's my prediction: Pat is coming off of shooting his biggest buck ever. Even a 150 incher is going to look small. No kill. Tom's mind is in Canmore on Sheep Hunting. He can't focus on whitetails right now. No kill. Jake has been retired for awhile now and accustomed to sitting around doing nothing. He will be right at home with the many hours spent sitting motionless in the tree stand. Jake kills a 160+. You heard it here first...

Pat, last week I was hunting wt in Nebraska. On the way to my stand, I looked up to the sky and stated "please do not let Hillary win". The next morning I killed my buck at that very spot, and a few days later, Trump is president of the USA.
A little luck and a prayer might help your hunt also. :) my best, Paul

The email ad for the bowsite that ran about the hunt right after the kill said 200"

I never saw anything that said a score. It suggested he was easily over 200". Looks like a 160-170 twelve point with 20" of extras. I come up with high 180's

I shot a buck this morning. Pat and Tom just left for their evening hunts. I have a second season Arizona bull elk tag which starts tomorrow. So, I am going to wash clothes, pack gear, butcher and freeze the buck, and then prepare to drive all night enroute to Arizona. I won't leave until they return from their evening hunts so I can see how they did.....BTW, I got the shot on video, so I am sure that Pat will be posting the footage tonight.

Damn Pat. What a beauty. Glad you recovered him tonight and didn't have to chance the yotes getting to him. You were spot on when you said the pics and video on the hoof didn't do him justice as much as when he was on the ground. Hell of a buck with lot's of character. Congrats!! Another late night celebration I'm sure?

Your shot sounds like it was almost identical to the one I took on my Illinois buck on Sunday. Very sharp quartering away, not as much penetration as I expected, but the damage that broad head did was absolutely devastating and I watched him go down just thirty yards from my stand.

Have had a pretty severe headache all day yesterday. Figured it was due to dehydration, as I felt better after drinking a couple bottles of water. Disappointed that when I woke up this AM, it was back with a vengeance. Haven't had coffee for a day or two...wondering if it might be caffeine related.....so I just put the Keurig to work....we'll see if that makes a difference, because I have an elk tag burning a hole in my pocket and I have got to get going.
