What kind of spool and line did you use to reel him in? Just kidding, but don't those things have a brain the size of a tennis ball and if you don't brainkill them they go far and deep and are tough to recover? Any video to show? Gator I had in Oz was like a chewy (you guessed it) chicken. I could see a freezer stocked with gator, figure out how to prep/cook it to cut down on the chaw factor.
Bet you paid for the hunt with the $$ for the skin eh? Some doll in NYC thanks you ahead for her handbag or shoes or whatever.
I didn't realize people hunted them from ground blinds. That looks and sounds very exciting! I always thought of gator hunting as some redneck deal in a boat or something like that... What you guys are doing sounds like a blast.
Here comes a guess it's score (size) entry - 14 feet HUGE! What's P&Y base the record on - skull size? Looks like a book gator to me. More where this one came from too. Seems like a gator score should be based on overall length fresh.
I understand that the accepted method of killing these reptiles is to put an arrow through their lungs, and then follow the float....and I am guessing that they want you to use a barbed arrow, so it can't pull out.
In your opinion, if you had a pretty high energy set up and were shooting heavy arrows with a heavy two bladed broadhead, could you kill them with a brain shot? I understand that the target is small....I am just asking, could an arrow get through that thick skull of theirs?
My wife and I are in florida visiting her parents and I showed her this...well I guess we are going gator hunting if we can find a place that can get us in...
No bait just set up on sunning beaches they like. Barbed arrow anywhere in them finish arrow is brain after fighting him in. Video on Facebook mine or Tim's. Someone can add link to it please.
I ended up doing a little swimming with the Gators crashed my phone, lost my Bowsite registration! Back now! Great trip great friends! Lost all my contacts as well, if you have my number text me please! Thanks
