I will be going on a Brown bear hunt on Unimak Island with a friend who has the bear tag. I will be hunting for wolves. Will wolves feast on a brown bear carcass? I assume yes, but wondering if the bear scent scares them off or other browns around the carcass keeps wolves away. Thanks.

I saw several wolves from the air on Unimak but none while hunting, YMMV.

A buddy shot a moose. The next day he shot a Griz eating on his moose. The next day he shot a wolf that was eating on the Griz hide. Ate a paw off of it?

I had a friend bow kill a boar brownie on Unimak several years ago that was feeding on a sow and 2 cubs bear carcasses. He assumed the the boar had killed them, but couldn't say that for sure.

Hearing that story first hand was great, t-roy! I'd love that tag someday.

Bear carcasses make one of the very best wolf baits. I've trapped a ton of wolves off of bear carcasses.

In northern Wisconsin the wolves are doing more than eating dead bear carcass. They are killing the cubs and eating them.
