Awesome. Have a great time with the family Forest. Can't wait to see your updates.
We are on are way. Airport was easy and all
Bags came on time. South Africa air lines love hunters.
This place is very nice!!
Hope all of you have a great adventure. Forrest
When I see the pictures of you and Kelly, the phrase "A rose between two thorns" seems to come to mind!! I'll see you next month!! Enjoy your African adventure....you gotta learn to smile for your photos!!
Christian shot a worthog all ready.... We sat on water for a few hours this evening just to break the ice. Still hard to believe I'm in Africa!!
Betting we see a lot of awesome photos! Thank you for sharing this trip.
It was just a old female but it got the jet lag cleared. Need to sleep I'll post more tomorrow!! Zzzzzzzzz
Was not on my list but was told I could not pass this big guy up!! I'm blessed!!! Lol. Great day saw lots this was the only kill. I have never been on a more professional hunt.
Nice blesbok- keep it up!
Congrats. I still love these Africa threads and am getting the itch again. I bet I could twist a few bowsite arms and get a trip together. :)
"Was not on my list"
I bet we hear that again!!! Have fun every moment!
This was on crits list. Might go 55". We are having problems with the 4 blade muzzy cut on contact head we brought..... They are junk.
Forest,
Why is that sable standing there broadside? Is there more story to the picture?
Very nice kudu. Lots of base mass. Congrats
Good mass and deep curls on the Kudu. Congratulations.
Any kill shot video of the Sable?
I did not kill the sable.......yet lol. I probably won't. I shot a great Impala but have not found it yet. 25"
Happy Birthday!! My wife celebrated her birthday on her trip to Africa. Pretty special.
Christian's Kudu is 57"..... Huge!
They are taking great care of your hides with the cloth bags. A big plus for the outfitter.
Congrats on a super kudu !! He's a good'un !!
I'd have killed that reedbuck! I tried stalking those boogers last year, that whistle alarm is annoying as hell.
Have fun
They did not have a tag for him Bake or he would of got smoked.
What a day!! Please send arrows!!!
Everything is so professional..... Every little detail even a gas gan with water to clean off blood.
WOW, you guys have had a hell of a start to your trip! Some great trophies. Congrats and keep up the shooting!
looks like you finally started smiling in the last picture. lol.
enjoying the pictures. Happy Birthday to the wife and congrats to you and your son.
Stackin em like cord wood:)
Great trophies ! Keep it up till you're out of more money or underwear !! Whichever occurs first.
I'm betting on money. They do your laundry every day ;-)
They wash my underwear every day so is going to be money or arrows I run out of first.
Nice trophies Forest! Enjoy every minute of it cause you'll be itching to go back sooner than you think. Nice to see you're finally smiling after being 15K+ into it. LOL.
Don't let up on em Forest. Awesome trophies!
Great job guys! You're knocking down some quality animals!
This thread really has me wanting to make a return trip! Africa is an awesome place.
Happy belated birthday to my guide!!!!
Today was not so productive. I got a some kind of stomach bug..... But they have some pills that worked great. Christian shoot a cull Impala.
This too shall pass !!
Good luck tomorrow.
Getting a little tuff now we are hunting just hunting one or two different kind of animals. I'm trying to get a zebra and Crit a gemsbok. I shot a kill Impala today and Crit had a giant worthog get away.
No red hartebeest or blue wildebeest???
Hang tough Forest and just be ready when they come in.
Danny could of shot both. Looking for a Zebra. No luck to day. 2 days left.
This looks like the trip of a lifetime in the making. Shoot until you run out of arrows. You can worry about the money when you get home. Take whatever Africa gives you. If you don't get a zebra this trip, you can always go back :)
Having trouble posting pictures. We have had great luck last couple of days and everything we have shot is Big! Rowland Ward is the standard over here I think. Some of you guys will know but the guide tells me everything we are talking makes it. I'm going to enter them out of respect.
Zebra was a dream come true?!!
Full meat processing facility
One awesome family adventure. Congrats on a great trip and some super trophies. As we say in the South, "You done good!"
I knew that blue wildebeest was a target once he just sat there for ya!
Wildebeest was a 38 yard shot. Longest of the trip by almost double.
Some great trophies, congrats!
Oh my! Congrats!
Safe travels home!
We are out of arrows..... We will leave tomorrow
Great trophies, congratulations. Safe travels.
Make sure you leave some of Africa behind..lol.. great pics and some beautiful animals. Congrats to you and your fam on the successful hunt!!
Congrats on a great hunt. I see you did have a ball..... so when are you going back?
I'll go back next year if you come with me Rich!!!
Sounds great but If I did I might not have a wife when I got back!
Nice job forest. You had a hell of a hunt. Thank you for sharing your trip. If you're not already please consider doing a pedestal mount on your zebra. Use the back skins as in lays in your panels. This is my favorite now out of all of my mounts. Hunting and nonhunting friends always comment on the zebra. There is nothing more that says south Africa like a zebra Pedestal mount.
Very nice indeed!
Thanks for sharing
Good luck, Robb
That's what I'm doing Chad. Could not agree more.
Wow....that's a lot of arrows! Thanks for sharing and congrats!
We could watch the shot video on the wall of the blind
That hide is nothing less than deluxe !!
Shot this guy out of a pop up we put up on a nother property mid Safari. Shot him with 15 min left of light on the last day.
Fantastic trip, congrats !
My, my, Your taxi bill will be three times the hunt cost!! Good thing you've got those high ceilings:)
Safe travels!
Forest,
Can you elaborate on ya'll's equipment set ups? Average shot distance/tracking distance?
Tks
No love for the big waterbuck?!
We shot Hoyt carbon defiant with FMJ. Started with muzzy 4 blade COC they failed bad....... The PH had a dozen slick tricks Magnum. The we're awesome. Will start to use them for sure. Most shots were 20-23 yards. I shot my Kudu at 30 wildebeest at 40 rest was under 25. All animals went down in 100 yards or less except the 2 we lost. Christian worthog and my first Impala got away. I aimed low anticipating the Impala to duck.......I hit dead center of the leg 2" low......
Thanks for the feedback on the equipment setup.
And now the fun part starts, how to have animals taxi done and where to put them. A great challenge to be facing.
I agree with the pedestal mount of the zebra and also consider a pedestal for the kudus. They really look regal on a pedestal.
Congrats again !!
Kudus will both be on one pedestal
Looks like you and the family had a great hunt!
Christians Kudu went 57 1/2'' mine is just shy of 55.
Great Bulls, great fun, congrats !
Awesome adventure. Forrest
You never mentioned the name of the outfitter. Can't read the sign.
