PEET Dryer - D'Odoriz'r Module?

I've been using a Peet Boot Dryer for years. It does a good job drying boots and a side benefit that I noticed is that it helps reduce foot/boot odor.
I just saw that there is PEET Dryer - D'Odoriz'r Module.
I've read that ozone products can be harmful to humans, is that the case with this product?
Does this really work or is it a gimmick?
