Daughters first buck!
Whitetail Deer
This is my 9 year old daughter Peyton's first buck taken yesterday at 6:05 pm on the first day of the state wide archery season here in Pa. she made a perfect shot at 29 yards.
She shot him over a small plot of GPRs mass builder clover . This was the first time I have ever tried food plots and I have to say, I've had a blast messing with this stuff.

I know this picture is a mess with all the blood but it is one of my favorites!! As soon as we found the deer, Peyton ran down to it and I told her to hurry up and pick his head up so I could get a pic to send mom. You can definitely see the excitement in her face with this pic!!

Congrats to Dad and Peyton! I can't remember too many details from any deer I ever killed but I can remember all the details from when both my kids got their first deer, such a cool experience!
I honestly do believe there is no better feeling in the world than seeing that whole experience in person. We get to try again in 2 weeks on an antelope hunt. It is with rifle but I truly don't care.

Peyton said when she went to school on Monday, one of her teachers asked the class what everyone did over the weekend. Peyton said that she went hunting with her dad and that she had shot a big buck and showed them pics. She said one of the boys said to her " my dad got a bigger buck then that one time" Peyton said she just looked at him and said " did you ever get a bigger one?" She said the boy just said no, but I will someday and then walked away. Lol
