Took day off to try to beat the heat. Coolest day of the week today. Overcast 58 deg. Slight breeze from north west. Hunting thicket stand.

Thicket stand is a ladder stand in a large red pine tree. It faces a hardwoods at its junction with an old overgrown apple orchard. The hardwoods to my fring has 3 nice shooting lanesthesia out to 35 yds or so. The thicket to the rear also has 3 lanes but only cut to 20 or 25 yds at the most. Slight drizzle now.

Vitals... In western NY, Town of Caneadea. Hunting my property today. Hunting with one of my favorite old bows, an old Mathews Outback. 60 lbs, 349 acc arrows, muzzy 90 gr. 4 blade heads.

Forgot to mention my son Mike is 300 yds northwest in oak infested hardwoods. I sat that (middle) stand on opening day and passed 15 does and 3 small bucks.

Breeze really picking up. Leaves cascading through trees creating a lot of noise. Think I'm going to get down and mooch around a bit. Going to head NW into wind toward what we call barn trail. I need to cross a hundred yard wide fairly deep ravine on the way to the trail, but it will give me a chance to stretch a bit.
