No shot on this big body four-pointer as he walked by in a hurry at 6:08 a.m., which is 7 minutes too early for a legal shot today in CT.

I think Six is the only man alive who would be stalking a buck while on the phone! Haven’t heard back maybe the buck turned and charged him.

The battery discharged while I was on the mission. Here is what happened: I managed to get to 20 yards from the buck using the trees as cover. All this time he was fixed in a different direction. I was fixed on him. What I failed to see was the 2 does bedded 20 yards form him, about 40 yards from me. As I moved to get even closer the does caught my movement, jumped out of bed, the buck stood up as well, I pulled the hybrid longbow string back, focused on one hair behind his shoulder and let the arrow fly. That deer dropped all the way to the ground, hitting the dirt with his chest, and my arrow flew clean above him. Loaded with energy his muscles exploded in the biggest jump I have ever seen a deer do, and in a blink of the eye he was 60 yards away, safe, unharmed, running to find his does. Next time I will pay more attention. Now I know where they bed on a windy cold day. This was an awesome hunt for me.

NOTE: BBB's native american stalking method works despite the fact that my boots do not have laces, but I was dressed to kill in ASAT camo.

The buck is in the yellow circle. I managed to get to 20 yards, behind the tree marked with blue. Does were in the direction where the buck is looking.

Regardless of the result, it was fun. My freezers are full already. If I get a deer now is for relatives and friends.
