First off 2017 was by far the best year ever at TSI for record book qualifying bears. I would like to thank everyone who hunted at TSI and helped make 2017 such a great year.Without you TSI would not exist. Over the holiday season I’ll post some of the moments in time from this past year and much more.follow along and comment freely. Trophy Safaris New Brunswick

As is the case each year some worse than others spring start up.Or as I call it “FORD season”(fixing or repairing daily) 2017 was a normal spring as far as snow levels but seemed wet by times.lol

20-Dec-17
Always good to have strong backs and eager guides while hauling in start up bait.

One barrel full and 300 to go.
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
As is the norm here it rains a lot in spring and heavily too.being cold and wet is something no Guide looks forward to but it’s get er done or get behind.

Out on the remote rds often we are the first humans to travel them since the previous year.everyday you see somthing.here are some New Brunswick turkeys we see often.
From: TSI

You know it’s wet when you never get over 20 mpr or out of 4x4.Getting around in early spring is tough on man and machine.
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
It takes literally tons apon tons of bait to get started
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
Then there’s those spring days winter decides she isn’t done then everything slows down and the work gets harder.
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
Finally after weeks of preparations we started seeing bear movement and had no idea just how exciting the weeks ahead would get
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
2017 started giving hints of where we were going to set up for the big mature males when we were seeing as many as 5-7 huge males on baits at the same time in certain areas.
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
Eventually it started to warm up and th baits started warm up too so that’s when we really start putting in some long days pre hunt
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
Time for the first hunters came fast, always nervous with the first hunters as you really don’t have any actual feedback yet on the bears other than the subtle signs. Still cool in the evening bugs at least are no issue yet. And it didn’t take long before some really nice boars were taken. And hold on as it just kept getting better and better as you will see.
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
Being early spring there’s some mobile road hazards, eastern snappers love nesting on rd sides.
From: TSI

Targets being active in daylight always a good sign
From: TSI

They aren’t all monsters at TSI But is still nice tagging out on the first weeks hunt
From: TSI

Week two kept the momentum with lots of bear seen and taken
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
Soon it’s all hands on deck and the boars just continued getting bigger and bigger
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
Bit side tracked but to answer a question just posed yes we know were there are small pockets of colour phase a very very rare bear this Far East.

Then here comes a real giant! This bear is likely the highest scoring bow kill ever filmed in New Brunswick
From: TSI
20-Dec-17
This 500lb plus bear officially scores over 21 inches and is one of two 500 lb bow kills at our camp in 2017 both filmed and will be featured on the outdoor channel this coming summer

Awesome Year! Good luck in 2018!!
From: TSI
22-Dec-17
By this time we already have had a banner year and already have an official 21 plus inch monster on film and over 500lbs is it possible we could have two giants over 500lbs on the same show from the same year killed with bow??
From: TSI
22-Dec-17
Dayle Boyer the producer of bearmagnet tv and I had already decided that we were not going to shoot a bear unless it was a monster.
From: TSI
22-Dec-17
After filming a lot of bears and some huge ones I could sense they were starting to think I’m too fussy but then I get a picture of a snapshot and well yes it did just happen!
From: TSI
22-Dec-17
Wow it wasn’t the biggest one but he’s very nice.We still haven’t weighed it but I’m thinking it’s a wrap we have the show!
From: TSI
22-Dec-17
2017 just kept giving and as I’ve not seen all the footage myself I’m anticipating the show as much as anyone im told it’s going to be an off the hook show. As far as we know it’s never been done in NB history to kill two 500lbers on film and air them on the same show!As well one of them is likely the biggest ever shot on film with a bow in NB and will rank with the biggest alltime any weapon.Pretty exciting stuff for sure.

22-Dec-17

22-Dec-17
So now we wait for the airing this coming year and I encourage everyone to watch you will not be disappointed there’s a lot of action and well you will see.
From: TSI
22-Dec-17
And with that giant on film and in the freezer we could end 2017 right there and been a stellar year but there’s more
From: TSI
22-Dec-17
Yes there’s moose hunting but maybe also more giant black bear and yes some huge NB white tails keep following along I’ll keep posting.Theres a big TSI announcement coming at the conclusion of the thread.
From: TSI
24-Dec-17

From: TSI

Down to the last few hunters of 2017 at TSI it was time for moose hunting Getting camp situation looked after is only part of month long scouting and locating done prior to the hunt.
From: TSI
25-Dec-17
Not only was it 90 degrees the day before the hunt we had some fairly serious deep woods repairs to look after which involved efforts from several to over come.
