5:30 AM LIVE from Ct*
Going to freeze my giblets off in a state forest. With the fresh snow im going in at first light with my climber to set up on fresh tracks. This will be a boring live hunt with the cold, but the live hunts have dropped off since the cold weather kicked in. Goodluck if you go out.

Headed out for lunch to thaw out. Found a trail with dozens of tracks only 40yds from my stand. I moved 20yds for the afternoon hunt to have multiple shots in that direction. Warm coffee and soup is amazing right now.

Just had another hunter about 120yds away. We waved and he turned around. Guess no deer are coming up this run. Hopefully the deer come down the run. Squirrels pin pointed him before i coul see him.

Well today was one cold day. I Almost didnt make it out of bed. Had an uneventful morning and an even more uneventful afternoon besides for another hunter. At 415 I pulled out my phone for the 5th time since 4 to check the time.. as I realize my season is over in 9 minutes I see movement 80yds out and closing fast. I can see a deer heading right for me. Stopping every 30 steps or so to dig for acorns. The deer gets to 40 yards I have my bow in my hand waiting for him to get to one of my openings. The deer hits my first window at 28yds, I mouth bleat to stop him. Let the arrow fly though a small window slightly qurtering away. Deer took off tail tucked and stopped behind some small saplings about 20 yards from the shot. I heard some sticks break and what sounded like a falling deer. The snow muddled the sound and I couldnt see the deer. I waited until around 5 to get down and check the arrow. Once I see the arrow soaked with bubbly blood i knew the deer was down. I slowly walk up the hill and there he was 20yds from the shot. Extremely greatful and thankful to have harvested this deer on my last day out in CT. I have hunted hard and alot this year in 2 states. 1 more hunt left this Saturday with my father in MA. More of scouting trip and a camera grab.
