If you don’t have some of this in your kit I highly recommend you get some. Great for fixing tears in fabric. I had a tear in a puffy that was hemorrhaging feathers. A piece of that tape and it’s real hard to find the tear.
+1, I patched a small hole in a raft at the beginning of a 80 mile raft trip and it held the whole trip, it is always in my pack!!
Has anyone tried it to fix a tear in canvas (tent)? How has it held-up in hot temperatures? Does the glue start to get sticky and detach in heat, making it a big mess?
Thx for the tip,,tape that works great it worth its weight in gold!! or it may save your backside!
StickFlicker, I have use the tape at the link with great results.
Rock-I used the tear aid (for vinyl I think) on a bike seat years ago and it has worked tremendously. I had gotten a sample and thought it would work for a short term fix. That stuff is awesome.
Tear aid looks like good stuff, I'll have to get some.
All ya need is the handy mans secret weapon, duct tape.approved by Red Green.
While I agree that a man needs duct tape there is no comparison between the two!
Love the stuff. I've used it to repair tents, blinds and puffys with great results
Canvas tent. Some of the outdoor sun-resistant Shoe Goo or Goop and any cloth you want to use. It will stiffen over time, but hold forever.
Has anyone tried it to fix a tear in canvas (tent)?
I used an iron-on denim patch [the one used for ripped knees in jeans] Stuck like hell and didnt leak
I put it on my canvas tent last fall and it is holding up great with not issues.
Stuff is AWESOME. A must have for every pack
Amazon 5' roll for $8 bucks.
I've used it on tents and a puffy as well. It appears to be a permanent solution.
I fixed a small tear in my Kuiu rain gear on my moose hunt last year with gorilla tape and it held pretty well. Is this stuff a better solution, in your opinions?
Yes. Gorilla tape is good, TT is better.
TT is the best. Ive used it countless times from tents to my truck.
