They don’t make a big enough boat to go in the water with one of these around. I would love to shoot one. Those cleaned skulls look like a Dinosaur’s. Don’t think I’d want to try going in the water after one with a bow. Whole different animal than a gator
Can’t believe all the fruities that were condemning the shooting of this. You’d have thought someone killed a baby panda bear.
The problem with killing 100-year-old Crocs.... it takes 100 years to grow a new one.
Think what that beast has lived through... 2 world wars and what more?
Not saying that a world class man-eater might not sometimes need taking out, but to have no reverence for a Survivor of that magnitude, you’d have to be pretty full of yourself....
He was alive for so long that he could remember when no one minded if someone wanted to hunt a croc. ;-)
If it could live to be that old, it means there are a lot of them around because it was never killed until now...
Not buying the 29.5' deal....that`s like 7-8' longer than any recorded Croc.
Like I said, What a croc. In more ways than one. How ever long he was probably 20’, is still a monster. If you are floating around in one of those native dugouts you might look like a bass plug. The 29.5 Story has been going around for a number of years.
This guy is about 18 feet but this is in Florida his girth is incredible Lewis

Not sure why they are trying to put it in the back of a pickup. What do you do with the 21' left over after the nose hits the cab??????
Easier than carrying it. When you shoot an elk and you’re driving an Escort you figure out a way.

Have seen some monsters in Central America and fished right next to them. Wading in the surf...
In college we used to ski on a river in S. Texas and would need to go thru and run the gators into the water and spook them down before we went skiing. Only had a few issues with dogs getting ate swimming at the beach if no one was running a boat up and down the river.
Yea, reptiles live for a long time. There are likely several in the same area in their 100's. And more than that in their 90's. More yet that are 80 and so forth all the way down. Their biggest predator is other crocs.
I read, several years ago, that on average two native Africans are killed per day. Mainly women working at water's edge.
Capstick was amazed at the habits of gathering water, or what have you, in the same place...day after day. A woman would get carried off, and her sister would be there the next day. Fatalistic life outlook, I guess.
Maybe that’s the only excitment they have in a mundane life. More likely the men of the village are sitting around placing bets on who will be next.
Consider that when you harvest a sturgeon or Red snapper, grouper that might be that old...
Poor Croc spent a 100 years trying to make a shithole country better and this is what he gets for his hard work?. He deserves better.

If you have not read Capstick's "Death in the Long Grass" chapter on crocs, get a copy and read it. It will give you chills.
Its not that big. If i put a winch on a bass and backed off it would be 500lbs. Fish picture technology. Good for bears too. The front of the head rests on the the tailgate. None of it is in the truck at all. Maybe 14 footer..and i got waterfront property in Arizona too.
Probably a lot more than a 14 footer that croc I posted was longer than my 17 foot skiff that I pulled up close to it to measure just saying Lewis
