The arrow is NOT 900 years old, it is MY arrow that I lost on a mammoth hunt when I lived down in Juneau and hunted off the Coast Range ice field, circa 2001. I Just used an old caribou antler so that is why the date is skewed. I killed a great bull mammoth on that hunt but unfortunately my film was lost in a crevasse on a particularly tricky glacier crossing.

looks like a harpoon head/atl-atl foreshaft rather than an arrow as in to be shot from a bow. As to forging copper 900 years ago, the Norse were in the area then.... they most likely imported hot metal working technology and the natives were bright (as all races are) and picked up on it.
