Crazy difference in regions about how much they get chewed up by rodents. I hear from guys that hunt on Illinois that say if you don't get them in the first few days, they are chewed up pretty good. Down here in Oklahoma, I've found sets from the year prior without chew marks. Squirrels everywhere too.
Good luck, I'll be out with friends looking for them and killing some pigs in the process.

Here in central MT it's been several weeks since I've seen an antlered buck. Have them within feet of my windows and can see the pedicle on the bucks so I guess most are bald.

According to my cameras they just started dropping here in my neck of Minnesota this week. Just sold a pile of old sheds so I need to get out and beat the trails looking for some new ones.

I picked up five last wednesday and 4/5 looked like mid march sheds; they were really chewed up and a bummer. I'd say if you're looking to start in the timber where the sheds would get chewed up faster.

jingalls, that shed is from a different year than the one in the pic. G2 is longer than g3 in the pic, and shorter on the shed. And the drop is longer on the shed one. I'd keep lookin' :^)

Jingalls , That drop is cool. I found a dead head a few years back that had a drop. One of my favorite skulls/sheds in my collection. Good luck chasing him.

Found eleven this weekend in north central Illinois, based on trailcam surveillance i'd say 80-90% of bucks have dropped. My wife and daughter went out yesterday and found five; man has she grown since last year! My back is hurting today!

Nice finds - wish I could go look, but won't be doing any of that for awhile. 8 in more coming tonight and tomorrow. DRAG. 24" here - Trapper's head is at my waist, I'm 6'.
