How did they preserve the velvet? Freeze dried or chemicals?

Midwest I injected the velvet with some velvet tan you can buy from matuska taxidermy supply. I didn't have access to a freezer and I was on a 20 plus day trip so that was my only option. My buddy has a freeze drier and he did my velvet blacktail horns which gives better results IMO .
