Just bought a new truck for myself today...a nice Toyota HiLux double cab. I’ve had a couple of cruisers and many of you might remember the “Green Machine” Mazda from years ago. Now I’m on my first HiLux. Will be picking you guys up in style now. Just look for the bakkie sporting the MAGA flag at OR Tambo in Johannesburg :)
I owned a 1974 HiLux, when they were still sold in the U.S. a long time ago. Might need to go to a full-length wildlife push guard grill protector on the front, though.
I’ll have to kit it out a bit for sure. We do have two totally kitted out cruisers however when deep bush retrieval is necessary

I just posted this here for fun but am happy that we’ve increased the fleet.
What ? No FORD ? :-)
Well, I own a Ford but in South Africa, Toyota is king :)

I wish I could buy a Hilux here in the US
Nice. Slap a tracker or two in the back and off you go,
I had a Hilux that was imported from Japan. Incredibly capable vehicles. I drove where the ATV's drove.

You can purchase the Hilux here. Just google Toyota Hilux for sale in the USA. They aren't cheap, but you can buy them.

Not often you see a roll bar lower than the top of the cab.
As long as it’s not lower than your head it’s fine.
I always though it was a “Bucky”, not “Bakkie”.
Been living in the dark all this time I guess. Stupid American...
A “Bucky” is drawn by a horse. You’re not watching enough old western movies !
Jim will find out all about it in a couple of months. He’ll be riding around in it.
Maybe I’ll be driving it by the time that hunt is over!!!! And I might as well, as I tend to try to get in on the “wrong” side about 1/2 the time anyway ;)
