No spots yet this morning......8:28
No Axis this morning. We are moving to a fresh cut hay field along a river. Will be in a try pod stand 60 yards off field edge in some thick cedars.
Best of luck on a successful hunt. Hang with them. Rut should be happening.
A least your hunting. Good luck!
Would love to go after free range axis.
I'm in a great spot! Wind is not great. Will need some intervention from the big guy.
Nothing but whitetail....try again in the morning.
Axis can be darn tough!
They may not move outside of the thick stuff during daylight. Try to get a stand in the thickest cover available - even if it’s in a short tree or even a ground blind.
They can be almost 100% nocturnal in a lot of places and you may need to hunt at night under a light.
Try getting some alfalfa to sprinkle around.
I can hear him......7:04am
You are whetting my appetite!
I leave Fairbanks a week from tonight. Fly to San Angelo then drive to Sonora, TX. Free-range axis and then blackbuck if there is time.
It is a productive time of year to hunt "southern hemisphere" critters.
Nothing......I have a new enemy!!!!!! I'll be back
