I have a groves spitfire mag 3 and I think it's a recurve but am entirely new to the sport.

And when you string it, make sure the string is on the other side of the bow.

That is a left-handed bow. You'll grip the bow with your right hand and draw the string with your left hand.

X2 on recurve stringer. Always ensure the string is seated on both limbs before letting pressure off the stringer.
