If you hunt or fish with a tailored boat you may have had problems keeping your trailer plates attached with the flimsy trailer attachments by the rear wheel. I have solved this by using u bolts and attaching the plate to the frame. You do need new holes however and I found the easiest solution is to mark spots on the plate corresponding to the threaded ends of the bolts and blaze away with a .40 glock. If your aim is a little off shoot again and use a washer. Matches diameter of bolt perfectly. Yes I actually do this in my back yard. My neighbors understand and don't say a word.

You sir evidently never had ricochet fragments removed.

I generally use a .458 Winchester Magnum Pete, but my boat trailer is bigger (and better I'm sure) than yours, so I like bigger bolts to hold my vanity plates. And......I live in the country, no close neighbors except my son, and he can't hear me, 'cause he's busy shooting holes in red iron to build a shop.

Pete, you should write a weekly column. You remind me of Pat McManus

Seems to me there was a Darwin Award given to a guy that was doing the same to his tailpipe with a pistol....the drill kept sliding off.

I think the top Darwin Award winner was the idiot that had his girlfriend shoot a .50 Desert Eagle into an encyclopedia book he was holding in front of him. He is no longer with us.

Ingenius, but I save my ammo for when I take the family out to shoot down the annual Christmas tree.

You can just use a drill. Chuck Norris would use his pinky finger. Pistol in the proper caliber is an acceptable alternative if you lack the drill or Chuck Norris.

I don't always use a drill........but when I do, its a 7/16 :)

Who buys a tag for a boat trailer?

There are tons of them at the mall parking lot. All you need is a phillips head.
