I wandered into an archery shop I frequent today. The tech behind the counter asked me if I dropped off another set of antlers for display. I said "no" and he produced a massive reproduction set. I promptly threw a tape on it and got 199 1/4" not counting kicker points. Not sure the history on it, but it is a good one. Here it is next to a 150"

Probably my favorite part of the WT rack when they get over 180" is the main beam length and overall mass. Just love it.

Seems like thats what separates the men from the boys.

Do you drop off many 200" racks for them to display?

Beautiful looking buck!! But it's far less than 200" after all those deductions wouldn't you say?

Never have Nick lol. Biggest one I have is that 180"s mulie from last year

I had a lot of fun with this one........One of the best replica paint jobs I've seen. I added some shredded bark to the bases and wrapped the skull plate. These were a set of sheds were from an Iowa buck and netted about 207".

Walk around with this one and it's like a super model on your arm, ha.

And yes, these giant typical racks are a whole different level and would blow your mind seeing them on a live deer. Just awesome stuff.

10-Jul-18
That's cool to see them next to each other to be able to appreciate the mass in the beams.

It'd be cool to see some other comparisons that people might have of a giant next to something significantly smaller when you know the measurements.

A buddy of mine has a 192" buck he killed that would be a typical but unfortunately shares a common base on one tine. I agree with what is said above, once you hold those things in your hands you realize how truly giant and impressive they are! Magnificent creatures!

Ive got a 152, 160 and a 172" on the wall (others a tad smaller), and those 200's dwarf 'em ... the largest Ive seen on the hoof would be around the 180" mark ... had two nontypical 200+"ers killed close by me, one came off the property I leased, I was in the wrong stand that AM (wrong wind direction for the stand he walked 20yds from on my side of the creek), he was killed after he crossed the creek going to the other property by the neighbor with a ML during gun season.. the other was killed during a firearm opener just a few miles away .. when they get 180+, they are some big darn deer ..

I have a couple of friends who live on the Potawatomi reservation in north east Kansas and they are whacking and stacking big ones there with rifles at very long distances, some out to 800 yards....but 200 is hard to come by even by them. It makes me sick when they send me pics of 150-170 inch racks and tell me they aren't big enough to mount.

The difference between a 150” Whitetail and a 200” Whitetail is very similar to the difference between a 300” Elk and a 400” Elk.

It’s HUGE!

2”s on an elk equals roughly 1” on a Whitetail.

The comment about 50"s stretched out straight is over 4 feet really hits home how big a difference 50"s is. I have a 160" plus and a few around 135-140"s and even 20"s or so difference is huge. Once they get 180 or above they become mythical. Shawn

I’ve developed the uncanny ability to deduct 50” from a rack for powder residue .So if the OP picture is of a gun kill on the left and bowkill on the right they would really look about the same to me…Trad gear, then the right buck is actually larger;wooden shafts ya say? Add another 5” kind sir

Where I hunt now, I'd be happy with 125-130" bucks (even though Ive killed much bigger from there/State land) ...... that lease I talked about above ^^, I wouldnt even lift my bow off the hook for 125-130"s there... whole different scenario now .. at times a 110-115 looks good :0(

The most impressive racks are the 200" 10 pointers. I hope the next WR is a 10 pointer. My favorite racks are the "Illinois Road Kill" and the "Breen Buck" my 2 dream racks.

just another chance for me to relive my poor choice of stands on one fine Kansas morning..... I chose not to hunt this stand the ranchers son in law killed this buck off of.......going on 10 years ago and I still regret it

He told us it was big......they spent the whole day searching and didn't find him....I had a feeling i knew where he went....found him for the kid 2 days later.....I literally gasped when I walked up on this buck, 216",218" something like that

I hunted Illinois for the first time back in 99. I took a “nice” shot 120 class buck in unseasonably hot fall weather. Took my buck to the butcher and got to see a NET 206 next to a NET 251!!!

The 251 was shot by Bill Brown who used to post here on the bow site. Was also the largest nt killed in 99. Crazy big deer!

As a measurer for Ohio Buckeye Big buck Club. I got to measure the Sweety Buck. It has 29 scorable points and is 33" at the widest. It was found by a farmers dog. It scored 263 5/8. But with the broken tines I think there was between 12-15 inches broken off. An that is on the light side. I think if the tines where not broken it may go in the 290's.
