Lope scouting: Which do you like?
Pronghorn

These are five of the bucks I’ve been seeing while out scouting. 49 days until opening day!
That one in the top left corner is a nice specimen. Good luck !
Top left without doubt for me from that angle in the pics.
Bottom left needs a bit more mass and then will be a heck of a buck, and the top right looks like it could have some cool prongs that curl out
First one that gives me a shot!
Lopes are very hard to judge! I’ll be happy with any one in the 70’s.
Charlie, they sure are. That’s why I’m being easy on myself and saying if any of these bucks gives me a shot I’ll take it!
I too think the top left is the biggest. The one on the top right is from yesterday and I think he could be just as good. Looks like he has good mass too.
Top left was my first impression.
top left or bottom left would be my choice because of how high the prong comes off the main beam
Good point MNbwhtr. Hopefully I can keep tabs on him in the area.
Well, you asked which one we liked, not which one we would shoot. I'm no snob. Like midwest, I'd shoot the first one that gave me a good shot !
The top left looks best to me as well, but keep looking and find a really big one! What unit did you draw?
You might want to push your limits and find a 75” or better...
I’m with stick.
Find a Gagger! No questions asked or messing around with photos - just go kill him!
Good luck!
Flicker, I’m in 4b.
I believe the top left looks larger than 75. He’s the best buck I’ve seen in 8 days of scouting and the 25 or so bucks I’ve seen . I’ve covered the entire unit by now though I’m sure there are many bucks that I haven’t seen yet. I’m sure some more will pour out of private property as the rut gets closer too.
Any one for me as I never been a horn hunter BUT if I lived in Goat country I would be much pickier as I am for Whitetails in my home state.. Good Luck. If drawn next year our group will be in Wy...
Still like your top left buck, but would shoot the top right and be happy. Both look to be >75”.
Good luck!
I agree on the top left, but I have to be honest. Within range, any of them are in trouble.
And then there’s this one!
Found him again this weekend and got some better pictures.
Beautiful animal. Best of luck with your hunt.
Hope you get one of those big boys!
Looks like you actually have some cedars to be able to pull sneaks if you start losing your mind in the ground blind!
Definitely some big goats down there this year, even with the long drought.
Thanks all!
Treeline, yes it is very stalkable country for the most part. I’ll be ready to stalk, decoy, or sit. Whichever looks like the highest odds option when the season starts on the 24th.
I’ve added a few more candidates! Ten days until season opens.
Looking better every time !! Good luck . Hunt
