My son drew Nebraska's Super Tag!

My son has had one hell of a summer and it just got a lot better. He first off won a free alligator gar bowfishing trip to Texas after winning a photo contest with an albino bighead he shot a couple of years ago. They also took him fishing for bull reds out in the ocean. He then was able to go hammer some big rays out on the east coast with some friends the same week and now just was notified he drew Nebraska's super tag. 1543 applied and he was the winner. He receives a deer tag, (2) turkey tags, an antelope tag and an elk tag. The elk tag he can hunt any unit in Nebraska and all tags are good for two years! It is going to be a fun season!

That is awesome! Are there any stipulations on the type of weapons? I ask that because if you draw an Oklahoma elk tag through ODWC, you have to use a gun.
Look forward to the killing to begin. ;)

I never did update on this thread of Zach's success in filling Super Tag with an elk, deer, antelope, and two turkeys. These tags were good for two years. He was the first to fill them all with the bow and also the first to fill them all in the first year.

What a sweet deal to get that tag at a time in your life when you can really USE it!! Congrats to him!!! There is no time like those late teens and for some early 20's when you don't have major bills to pay, and almost all your income is discretionary. Your time is yours, glad he was able to make the most of it, and with some beautiful animals to boot! Any two of those whitetails is all most could ask for in a calendar year.

I really enjoyed getting to hear the stories first hand. It couldn't have happened to a nicer young man either. Zach was a all state runner in high school, honor roll student, never in trouble, and did it all with his bow! He will do great things going forward I am sure and he learned most of this despite his father.... :) Congrats young man!
