How to get fired up for elk season.

Not that I needed any help getting fired up but things went into overdrive after rubbing shoulders with a bunch of elk slaying Bowsiters yesterday. A few beers and some great food had the elk stories flowing. Great guys, every one!
Thanks to Brad (cnelk) for hosting the event again and hopefully some of that elk killing mojo rubbed off on me!
That is a gathering that I should be sitting in a corner, shutting up, and taking notes.

Tons of fun, and Brad was a terrific host as always! Great to finally meet Nick and Paul, and see the rest of the crew again! The beverages were flowing, as well as the bulls..., er, stories. Ha!

There was a covert operation put on by elk across Colorado trying to poison the beer. Apparently it failed...

Great time with this bunch, as always,! Paul's BBQed pulled yard hopper sliders were exceptitional. We need to do this more often.

Hey Lou, this was one of the geese (yard hopper) that provided Goose BBQ for the sliders.
Maybe me an Native Oakie can swing over for the next get-together.

Nice! I’ll be getting out scouting mule deer with my boy next week:). Will see if his lungs still work after being down in Texas!

Go fishing where your going to go hunting. Did it this past weekend and ran into a group of bulls and a couple of cow calf pairs, definitely gets you fired up. I love the smell of a steaming pile of elk crap in the morning.
