Working on a central barren ground caribou hunt. I really would just like some opinions from those guys that have gone as to where they went and why. Or where they wish they went. For me Manitoba is the easiest and cheapest (if you can call it that) option. 12 hour drive north. Can still shoot 2 bulls ( huge plus). Downfalls being recent crap years, 15 and 16 were a wash. Though things rebounded in 17. Nunavut is still currently an option, though there have been rumors of closing. 1 bull hunt. Huge adventure in a new land for me. And finally Greenland. After reading all the musk ox stories and seeing the great caribou this hunt is right up there too. Greenland appears to be the largest adventure, though the largest price tag as well. Hardest to get trophies home from also (or so it sounds). Always appreciate everyone's feed back and stories.

Greenland was good for me. My bull would have scored nearly 400 if he didn’t break off so much. The other guys bulls were all right around there. The best part was you could shoot as many as you wanted - $$$

Caribou77 I had the same problem as you trying to figure out where to go being its the last caribou I need so bit the bullet and I'm going to Greenland in Oct so I can let you know how I make out. Really wanted to go to Nunavut but nothing seam to work out. I really don't like to travel 8 days to hunt 5. 5 days doesn't seam to be a lot of days if you get bad weather and if I realized it was going to be 8 days of travel I probably wouldn't be going. As of Oct 1 you have to go through Copenhagen because they stop the flights through Iceland which would be quicker for me. Just something to be aware of.

8 days of travel!? Really. Wowza. I've always hated the fact that most of these hunts are only 5 days. I've always been lucky on my Quebec trips. Think I gained a week of hunting days, which means others lost days.
Rory, Manitoba is by FAR the cheapest of the 3..... Looking forward to hearing how it went, if the dates woulda lined up better I woulda been there the week before you.
As far as Webbers, my understanding is they sold there caribou tags and will no longer be offering hunts for them. Not sure who is taking those tags over.

I had a fantastic trip with Munroe back in 2014. I was glad to see things back to normal for them and all the MB camps last year. I hope it continues.
