When I was researching race food for an ultramarathon I ran last May, I came across these little goodies that I thought would also make a great midday meal or even something to snarf down for breakfast on an elk hunt. They taste great and provide a good load of calories, carbs, and protein. I made a bunch ahead and froze.
I did the savory version with ham, parmesan cheese, and a little soy sauce for my race. They tasted fantastic and helped to fuel me for 50 miles! I will also test batch some sweet versions for variety to take this elk season. Give them a try!

Very good Idea. I'm going to try that. Thanks for the tip!

Looks good! Something to make ahead and take on road trips. I'm guessing they'd be good for a 3-4 days if kept cold.

Do you freeze those, then let thaw while riding?

I used them for my 50 mile trail run. They were thawed by the time I got to the race and sent them out to my different bag drops to grab as I came through.
I'll throw them in the cooler frozen when I head west. They would easily keep in the cooler for a week or two.

Interesting--------->
I might try a few for my 22 hour drive to Iowa next week.
Certainly better than snacking on chips!!
Good luck, Robb
