Anyone make your own, with the Prusik knot? What rope do you use? And where did you buy it? TIA.

REI 11mm Blue Water Assault line 6 or 8 mm PMI accessory cord. I use 6.

Safe Tree Hunt Systems makes top quality life lines, linesmans belts and prusiks for about what it costs to buy the rope yourself. He no longer has a website but I think is on Facebook now. I don't use FB so I can't help there.

6mm beeline cordage from sherrill tree , or treestuff.com with eyes. I prefer a distel hitch over a prusik as it is easier to maneuver with one hand if necessary.

I have made my own, and every ladder stand and hang on stand on my farm has one. I have found, however, that when you consider the cost of the main line, the line for the prussic and a good carabiner, you can buy them cheaper. The cheapest I have found was on the WalMart online store. As I recall, a pack of three was less than $80.
