A friend of mine passed this buck up yesterday what do you think he scores. I think he's mid 70's.

74-75"?

I'll guess 80+.

Very long.

Your friend is crazy! I’m not sure what he scores but on character alone I would have shot him! That’s a very cool buck.

I’ll go upper ‘70’s...He’s long...

I don't know and I don't care, he scores high on my plate and that's where it counts with me. (They're a blast to hunt too !)

Tips don't come down much which exaggerates the length. Prongs are great. Not great mass. 78

16inchs In length...good prongs good mass ..he goes about 80

From: Franklin

Wouldn`t of passed on that goat regardless of what he scores. Very nice animal.

Low 70's.

Mid 70’s is my guess

I don't know enough about antelope horns to assign a score but man is that a beautiful animal. There must be some giants out there to pass on one so nice. Best of luck to you and your friend.

17-Aug-18
I'm with Marvin. The length is there but Mass is deceiving imo and he won't score as well as many are guessing. I would say low 70s as well. Solid PY buck! What did your friend think and why did he pass him?

Wow. High 70's, maybe 80. I would have shot bow or gun immediately.

From: Beav

I am saying 75 plus. Great length below the prong and good mass on first two measurements and decent prongs.

From: Matt

Low 70's. I don't think he has the length others think he does.

Big enough and I like 8 yard shots!

He shot him yesterday. Passed him on the opening day to see what else came in. He's green scoring today after work.

Very nice buck. My guess is 76. Main reason I pass on good to great animals occasionally is so I get to hunt more!!!

From: elkmtngear

Screw the books, I'd shoot him just because he looks cool!

Demonstrating how hard it is to judge pronghorn. Estimates range from 70 to 80, which is a HUGE difference.

I killed one last year that I think is comparable in size. Horns jut forward much like this guy. Horns don't curl down much, also like this guy. Mine was 71". This one appears to have longer prongs perhaps, so maybe he's 72-73.

Shooter to me for sure, but I don't think he's pushing 80". I could definitely be wrong though.

Nice buck, but I've seen enough over the years to say that even with just that one picture that buck is much closer to 70" than he is to 80"!

From: drycreek
17-Aug-18
I agree with the low 70s. I'm looking at one on my wall now that goes 78 2/8 and several more in the low 70s to high 60s. He's still a nice goat though.

Post a field photo or two, once they have the green score.

I don’t even know how you guys can put a score on him, you see one Blurry side. That’s it.

From: BULELK1
18-Aug-18
He looks longer than he is I think because he lacks any Mass, from that 1 Pic.

I say kissing 70...………

Good luck, Robb

72 5/8. Tell Gavin congrats!

Can you post a kill shot before the score? Will let folks put in a better guess be the actual comes out

I saw this same buck on a thread the OP also asked for a score over on Eastmans and a guy from Nebraska said high 70s and that he was using 6.5 inches for the prongs. Very few book antelope ever have prongs that long and 7" prongs are like a mule deer that scores 200". I hope we get a score soon and it's done by someone with the proper tape and that knows what they're doing since just 1/4" off on each measurement makes a huge difference in the final score and why pronghorns are probably the hardest animal to judge.

Thinking right at the 70 mark, give or take a few either way. At 8 yards with a clear shot he would have been making his last sprint! Cool buck! Congratulations to your buddy!

I can understand passing on the first day, especially if he's killed a few. Makes sense to see what else is in the area. I'm hoping I can hold out and see a few options on my first day too. I like the typical heart shape bucks with long hooks.

From: RymanCat

One thing is for sure he's a definite P and Y! He's a pretty buck. Hard to see but he don't look real dark on his mask from the angle.
