That is great advice. It is not new however. We learned that in the 1980's when high speed photography first caught the deer dropping straight down. It was on one of the videos of that era ; maybe Bowhunting October Whitetails, or one of Ben Lee's Vids.
It is good though that it is reiterated for today's folks.

Personally, I'm am not on board with aiming any different than I do now. Who knows maybe I'm already doing it......

All things being equal....if your arrow hits lower than you aim point ( due to any reason...target panic, buck fever etc) it is much better than it hitting higher than your aim point. I had a buddy that "spined" 3 deer in a row....he could fix it on a target but not on a animal. He decided to incorporate the arrow hitting below where he aimed. It did work for him while hunting.

Not me,,,, my compound is not my old PSE from 1977..... I aim for the spot, and it goes there, none of that other nonsense,,,,, at least for me,,,,,,,,

Your arrow goes where you aim, but where is the deer when the arrow gets there?

I will say that back in the day of 230fps compounds, I never missed when holding dead on. The deer ducked but the arrow wasn't there yet. As they came up, the arrow would meet them. I saw misses when I got up into the 300+fps area. I had to start aiming well under the deer when I got a bow up to 340fps. When they didn't string jump, I missed cleanly which was fine with me. Shooting the recurve, I never aimed under and only aimed on the lower 1/3. Most of the time, that is where I hit them.

W I have not had any issues the last several years,,,,, not to say it does not happen, but most of the time, I shoot close, very close

I aim for the heart. If the deer drops I get lungs. KISS.
