Ha! I’m betting if you’ve set your mind on this one bull, he’s living on borrowed time.
Get ‘em Brad.

At least it wasn't a photo of a guy stealing your other camera.
Keep the faith, it's gonna happen

That stinks! I had a similar situation with a 150 class WT in September a few years ago. I had the camera set up on a line of pre-rut scrapes on a ridge behind my house. On that evening I decided to hunt a clump of persimmons a mile or so from the house to try and kill a doe. He took a couple of selfies giving me a great look at his rack and then walked off. The last picture showed him walking over the ridge about 15 yards from my stand.
I got a couple other pictures of him at mid day in early November and then he vanished. Never saw him in person.
I hope you get him. Out of curiosity, how far away were you hunting that morning?

cnelk doesn't seem to choose the wrong spot very often so I'm expecting the next photo to include a dead animal

Hoping so. Expecting it as well.

That's some good intel! If they're in bow range at first light you might have bumped them getting in there anyway. Sorry, "half full" perspective!

Very easy to second guess yourself when that happens. Did it to myself a few times, including recently with a big bull elk. You never know how it could’ve played out had you been there. Lots of things like wind, cows, etc. could have come into play. Lots of “what if’s” in Hunting. A definite downside to cams too. Sometimes ignorance is bliss...
