My question is this- I have my regular whitetail archery season tag as well as a bonus tag. I can use my bonus tag in the area I hunt. If I shoot a doe right away, can I use my bonus tag on it and still hunt the archery season with my regular license for a buck?

Yes you can.

the bonus tags can also be used for any season in any unit that allows them for an antlerless deer

Right on. I was really hoping that I could do just this. Get that freezer filling with veny yet still take the time to try for a giant. Thanks guys!

Good luck to you. I was out this am and had a doe go by at 40 yards. Got a pass. Too hot to deal with one today.

Great call. I didn’t go out due to other reasons but was seriously conflicted with the heat.

Bonus tag can only be used in areas where a bonus deer is available. There are some areas where you have to use your main tag, regardless of the sex of the deer taken (yes archery too). Read, re-read the regs is my advice.

In the OP, he stated that the bonus tag is good in the area he hunts. The answer to that original question is ..Yes.
There used to be a time when we had to use our regular tag first in order to buy a bonus tag. That is no longer the case.

yes you can use your bonus tag with your first deer. You don't have to fill your main tag before you fill the bonus tag.

Just funnin' with ya, it would take 3 bucks around here to equal 200" too.
