Archery elk is over. How did Bowsiters do this year?
I never got out, Jason. My wife severely broke her leg July 26th and so I just planned on going to CO to hunt with my normal crew. She’s a lot better but not 100%. I picked up a multi season tag the other day so I’m planning to get out in the next few weeks. How did you do?
I focused on deer and got it done. If I get after elk with a bow, it will be as soon as my kids LE late rifle hunt is done. Right now I’m 100% stir crazy not archery hunting elk and curious how everyone here did.
Just got back a couple hours ago. Put on round 3,500 miles, met new friends, new country, and had a great hunt. Saw many bulls bigger than this one but I'm happy with him. I will try to get some pics on here.
Good for you Don!!!
I was thinking about ya while I was up in my Wyoming Bow Elk Camp last week.
Very symmetrical bull man.
Congrats
Good luck, Robb
PS~~No Idaho bow elk tag for ya this year Jason?
Awesome bull Don!
No Robb, I drew a limited entry rifle tag for mid-October in the same unit. Idaho won’t let you keep a capped OTC tag that sells out and a LE tag. It’ll be fun to do something different I guess.
Utah posts have been pretty quiet on every forum.
Great Bull, Don!
Oh that is correct Jason ~~ my bad.
I was hoping Todd/Glunker would post his Dandy Dutton bow bull on here...…………
The last I heard from C-man was he and his WirlWind hunting tour of the Rocky Mnt states with Az--Colo and Utah !
Good luck, Robb
congratulations on you success , Nice Bull
Well thanks for asking. Son Zac and I hunted 8 days when he bugled him in. Might have called him in 2 days earlier or at least a similar bull, butch was way too think to shoot. Was a great hunt and experience with an easy pack out, so.ething i assume is rare on the 'rock pile'. Appreciate all the help I received such as drainages and coordinates.
Any one Holding out for the SJ (San Juan)?
It might just be worth it------------->
Good luck, Robb
Another SJ bull, DIY hunter and yes a Rifle tag.
Good 3rd's and 5th's for sure make a good bull Great!
It is an Any Weapon Season and most every year 2 non-ressy tags offered, You can use your bow during these dates and basically have the place to yourself after the first/opening weekend as most have harvested and left the unit.
Good luck, Robb
Someone turned in a San Juan tag two weeks before the hunt started this year! It was offered to a co-worker of mine...who did not take it!
Smart move by that guy and your coworker. Worst elk Archery season in several years
Congrats guys. Beautiful bulls
