Does anyone have a suggested on making the elk in pictures below more secure. Right now the antler tips are resting in corners of wall. I cut three small chunks of hardwood floor and screwed them together to rest skull on (see pictures). My fear is that if the armoire it is resting is bumped the whole head will fall. I would prefer not to drill or screw into armoire but would consider.

There's two small holes on the side of the spinal column hole... fish a piece of wire through them and make a loop... hang it on the wall. Ed F

Skull hooker has a table stand that might mark. Then you can secure that somehow

I don't want to hang on wall.
I have seen the table stand but is said only for small to medium size heads not elk. So I don't think it will work. If some one has a elk on one and it works would love to see a picture.

Make something like a wall plaque (only it sits flat and doesn't hang, basically turned 180*) with a screw into the skull, and then run another screw up through the armoire into the bottom of the plaque to secure it there.

The table hooker won't work for an elk. I have one with an impala on it. WAY too small and light for an elk.

I've been doing this more and more. Can buy them online at the Taxidermists Workshop.

You could attach something to the BACK of the armoire (think 2x2, 2x4 color to match)and then run another horizontal dowel, arrow, metal rod, into the rear hole of the skull.

Here is a idea for you. Strong enough to hold this cape skull. Only problem I can think of would be the is balancing out the elk skull and antlers to not tip over. Maybe this guy can figure it out for you. https://discussions.texasbowhunter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=706465
