Ohh me so thorny! Z10 sit 2nd run this season. Sitting on a nice grassy knoll with acorns. I walked through tons of sign, sitting on a little sign now. I should’ve stopped on the way in. River is flooded, access is flooded. I forged ahead - nothing stops me! Up to the knee in a mud hole falling into nasty thorns, the ones like talons that tug you. I got em in my neck, crotch, that woke me up. I shimmied up the tree way faster this time, and found a solution to my back pack problem (how to carry w climber). Been watching red squirrel grey squirrel chippies munching acorns. Heard an owl, an ice cream truck, dump truck, skeet shoot from two different places. Got buzzed by a 747. Rung out my socks. Honked my extinguisher, did some emails for work. In hindsight the flooded river might’ve stopped the deer- heavier sign was on the way in. That’s why I bought the climber- better to follow instinct that achieve “the perfect spot.”

On leaving I heard some coyotes howling that was cool. I was trudging through the water lost my balance going through thicket and decided to go for a short swim to wrap up the evening.
