Razza/Rehor Doe Slam 2018
Whitetail Deer
Contributors to this thread:
Each year on my way to the Midwest I visit with Dennis Razza and his wonderful family. Our goal is to shoot a few does on the farms Dennis manages!
The first trail cam pic is the lead doe getting out of town when she heard our truck door shut:)
Every election year before I head to the Midwest I do my absentee voting. I was first eligible to vote in 1972 and have voted (one party) ever since. Vote guys, it matters!
First evening sit we each got a nice doe. Didn’t take many evening pics because of dragging, gutting and hanging chores:)
Next day Dennis shot this doe. Look to the right of his broadhead as she went down in sight.
Whoa, Charlie....which mech you using there?
This one was a very short track!
Good job Charlie! She didn't go far! Looks like you threw an axe through her........
Cool thread. This is what I like about bowhunting. Trying to kill big bucks is a challenge but there is nothing that reminds us more as to why most of us started hunting than good old fashioned doe patrol!
We ended up getting 5 does.
Dennis built this really cool hanging rack in his back yard. It was cold the last few days so this was perfect hanging them. All deer will be processed and Dennis will provide venison for family and friends.
We are done hunting does now as it’s “Bucky” time but this hunt is a yearly favorite. Thanks Razza family for hosting me. I’m in Indiana right now and will be hunting this pm in Illinois. Lucky boy I am. Safe hunts all and GOD BLESS!
Well done boys! Looks like some hoot shooting!
Well done Charlie - good luck in the land of Lincoln!
Bowfreak: You totally get it. I always enjoyed the entire bow hunting experience.
“The hungry lion hunts best” Stay hungry.
Midwest: I used the Rage Extreme with a Chisel tip on this hunt. Using them and Iron Wills this season.
Congrats Charlie! Hunting for big horns is fun but shooting stuff is "funner"! Good luck in Illinois!
Congrats guys, way to put them on the ground!
Good job on the does guys! Lots of fun for sure! So, when you say Dennis "built" the game pole, you mean he removed the swings, right? LOL!
Great job Charlie!! Safe travels and good luck:)
Real nice Charlie, you guys did good. Best of luck in IL.
Boreal- yes, I get much more use out of it for hanging deer than the kids did swigging! Lol
The annual doe hunt is my favorite hunt of the year. Just a fun good time. Good visit Charlie and maybe you have a few days in your schedule for a late season slam! Safe travels.
Good job guys! Those are some VERY healthy looking specimens! : )
Awesome job guys. Is that doe on the middle, left a piebald? Looks like some white spots on her side. Very cool.
Congrats guys, a lot of fun. Boreal the new wood on the left side looks like it was the side attached to the fort and slide. I was going to do the same thing with mine.
Looks like some great shooting.
Charlie a RAGE fanboy? Who knew???!!! ;-)
Nice! Good luck out west Charlie. Safe travels
Nicely done! Sounds like a fun trip!
Congrats. Old does can be very cagey and tough to bow hunt. I hate the does that bust you and stick around blowing for a while.
Looks delicious!
Good shooting guys!
Ahhhh, look at all the pretty dead deer hanging...8^)))
Congrats Charlie!
Good work gentlemen, and have fun chasing the opposite sex!
Great stuff, guys! You need an old-timey black and white photo of the hunting crew standing next to those hanging does!
Congrats!! Welcome back to IL Charlie. Hope you guys do well. Things are starting to move.
Congrats Charlie and Dennis!!
Hunting machines!!!
Mark
Love it! Not a lot more fun than whackn some does
