Hard Crossbow Case, Any Thoughts ?

Found myself traveling by air, would like everyone's thoughts on a sturdy hard crossbow case. Especially if you have had experience traveling with same.

SKB crossbow case, big and bulky, but works very well. Was never charged for oversize when we traveled with it.

Has anyone ever tested whether it affects point of aim to remove the bow part (most if not all Xbows are shipped that way) and then reassemble? Would make for a much less cumbersome item to package and easy to do.
