I hit a limb and it hit the deer which was broadside to me. Just in front of back leg up high near spine. I have three different spots of spraying blood. Then it dwindles down to drops. Looked for three hours this morning. Need any input please. I’m almost positive I hit the artery, but he be dead and found by now??

If you hit the artery that runs under the spine to the hindquarters that deer would be dead in less than 100 yards.

if you hit the artery he'd be dead and darn fast. as to would he be found that would depend on if you looked in the right place.

Ditto to buckhammer. I made a really poor shot on a buck that caught him in the similar ham area. I cut the femoral artery. I could not believe the blood! He didn't make it 30 yards.

There's also a bunch of little arteries back there that will spray, but are non-fatal. He's either dead close-by or he's still alive and will most likely live.

Kind of sounds like a backstrap hit.

Buddy of mine shot a buck just shy of 170" here a few years ago. Arrow hit a branch and hit the deer back around the hind leg. Cut the femoral and dead within 35 yards. Hard to know exactly but if you hit anything big he should be dead inside of 60 yards I'd guess.

Sounds like muscle hit. Those bleed great for a couple hundred yards then peter out to nothing. Been on too many of those bloods trails. They don’t end well. If that’s where you hit Him in fact. Sometimes in the moment it’s hard to tell. Hope you find him, let us know how it ends.

You didn't hit the artery. Look until you can't find anything to keep looking for. Then grid search. If you don't find him, dust it off and get back after them.

I’m back out in same area sitting in truck. I’m gonna wait till sun is up and start searching again.

Well no luck. I turned map tracker on. White mark is where I started, red mark is stand location
