Just got back from Kodiak a few days ago. Had a great trip with several other Bowsiters. Hunted with Homer Ocean charters. Fantastic food and an equally great group of camp mates! Dry sunny weather and limited rut activity made the hunt more challenging. Was able to tag this buck on day 2. Had 1 other good opportunity, but couldn't quite get it done. Looking forward to going back!!!

Awesome buck! How's the deer population around the bay? Going back with Homers next year. This pic gets the fire burning a little more

Probably saw 50 - 60 deer/day. Bigger bucks just starting to get active, nosing and following does. This weeks group should do well! If they have another mild winter, next year should be awesome!

Steff is short selling his achievement. Those were tough conditions to take a 94" buck.
Did we even take 1 group photo?

It was a great time Stef. As Randy stated - the conditions were tough! Deer numbers were good - rut was a little late for us.

Great times guys, it was a pleasure hunting with you. I particularly like that group photo at the Olds River Inn (fantastic place BTW, well worth the trip if you have time to kill on Kodiak).
That picture pretty much sums up our trip. Randy, Scott, Bill, and I appear to be thinking "Man, I am *really* enjoying myself." Cecil, on the other hand, is is clearly thinking: "Hey guys, there's boobs on the TV."

It was great running into you guys at the hotel, though I paid for it the next morning. Fun times down there, those deer are a blast.

Nick, Sorry to have missed the chance to me you. Though, I thought we'd bump into you at breakfast. Apparently, that option waned as the preceding evening persisted. lol

Matt, I think there was an arrow add on the TV and he was wondering how he could get some more flown in...
Nick, Great meeting up with you as well! Randy, I think missing breakfast had more to do with the van doors he couldn't open and all of his gear was locked inside!!

Thanks for sharing Steff. I would love to get back to Kodiak. It's such beautiful country. Maybe I'll look into the Homer Ocean Charter option. Sounds like you had a real positive experience.

Steff, you sure were the star of that outing, biggest buck and most crab legs eaten, also set a deer-packing gymnastics record in the tumbling category.

actually I had offers of more arrows. I don't think they'd have helped. when you suck you suck, and that week I sucked (my shooting sucked). My wit and charm were on point

Fuzzy, my friend, you should not have felt any guilt/shame for taking any offered arrows. I remember when a mutual friend ran out of Razorcaps, and we all sent arrows up the line:-)
