Well I got in here late about 30 mins ago but any time in the woods is great. Missed a nice buck down in Stamford on Wednesday. Hunting my spot in barkhamsted tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully I make up for wed. GL if your out in the woods!

Awesome hunt tonight. Had 2 does come in at different times. One hung around at 70-80yds for 20-30 min then came in to about 50 as she crossed the clearing but no shot. Then an hour later, 15 min before sundown, another doe (possible same one) came in at 50 and and started to walk across the clearing but away from me. Grunted at her and she turned and came to what I thought was 40yds. I grunted again and she stopped broad side. I aimed carefully and released the arrow. It went just under her heart/lower lungs. Would have definitely been a double lung if I had the distance right but When I get to where she was standing it was actually 47 yards. No blood on the arrow, no hair on the ground. Clean miss. I actually watched her walk out of the cleaning at 150 yards. If I had my rifle today both would have been easy shots.

Work in Stamford but have 80 acres of private land in barkhamsted. I hunt in Stamford before or after work during the week. Barkhamsted on the weekend. So glad they opened Sunday Hunting for bow up here this year. I’ll be back out tomorrow. Might do an all day sit or if I am lazy and don’t get up I might sit from 9 till sunset. I’ll check back in tomorrow.
