Big 6 points.
Whitetail Deer

Would love to see some photos of large 6 point deer! Also wondering if any of you know where a guy could find records of biggest 6 points shot in MN.
Here is mine shot in 2001. Scores 118 P&Y
1990 my dad first deer with a bow. My sister and I were in the way of a good picture
Bet your Dad would say you made the picture, KS!
Dang, you make me feel old!
Great buck! What is his spread?
I believe somewhere years ago, there is a 6pter in the pope-young book...
Awesome 6 Bohunter! I’ve got a barely 7 point (one point is an inch long) that scores 111” if I remember correctly. 20” inside spread. Your deer looks much more impressive.
Basically a 6 , but has 2 small brows .

I believe 155 4/8” net is the world record 6 pointer. There was a huge 6 pointer at the Cabela’s in Kansas City that was around 147” net, I believe it was. It was very impressive, to say the least.
Killed this guy opening day of winter bow season a few years back. Hunterdon county New Jersey.

Decades ago I think a guy from Ohio shot a whopper 6 pt. It was in N. American Whitetail....I think he shot a big buck the year before also.
Back in the day, I think maybe late 80's a guy shot one in NE Ohio that scored over 140", I remember that because it qualified for the state record book of 140" minimum... It was a smooth 3x3 with heavy mass...
Not a “large 6 pt,” but this was a special deer for me because it was my first 3 year old wt, 4th deer in 6 days, and filled the freezer with minutes left in the trip. 2016 Nebraska public land.
Sorry for the bad photo, it was dark and this was before JTree bought me my photo tripod.
I’m surprised no ones posted a photo of that giant 6 with all the stickers that was killed last year or the year prior? Had elk sized mass... anyone remember this buck?
Here he is. What a giant.
Maybe check the Minnesota Deer Classic record books? Could check with Outdoor News as they have the deer and turkey show now in March?
Yea, Ike.... that was shot just East of OKC. Crazy story.
Whats the story behind that massive buck? BTW, looks like the right G2 was cut off?
These are awesome!! I was just curious. I shot one of the two legends of our farm the other night (cheater pipe) and wanted to know how he would stack up. He is a 7 point (7th point is about 5 inches) which is good since we have a 4 point law in our zone. I want to get him officially scored after the drying period. We did a quick rough measurement and came up just shy of 140 as a 7. I am sure a proper scorer would shave a few inches off of that. Thanks guys and keep the photos coming!
Well what the f***!!! Let’s see a pic of him! Congrats
I was shy to share a photo since he was shot with a gun. I haven't shot one with a shot gun in over 6 years!
This is a good reference photo. The buck next to him is a 140's 10 point.
Another thing that I found very interesting is that in prior years, his 3 point was on his right and this year it was on his left. Also, the whole configuration of the main beam switched as well, it was like he looked in a mirror. Have any of you seen that? I was wondering how often that happens.
Big mature 6 I've got running around in Ohio
Matt, That buck reminds me of Koby Bryant's finger..... LOL Cool buck!
Got a pic of this Big 6 here in CT.

My oldest daughter killed this nice 6 a couple of years ago. Not a giant but pretty nice for a 6 pointer.
Some of you guys can’t count to six.
My wife’s big 6 killed on our place last year. (BTW, several of these deer shown aren’t really 6 points.)
A basic 6 point with some kickers. My wife arrowed this buck on our place. It was 8 years old.
JohnMC, I mentioned at the top of the thread that mine was a 7 ( but with deduction would score as a 6 ). We can't shoot in our zone unless it has 4 on one side, the 4th point has to be at least an inch. When we first started seeing my buck, I don't think he would have been legal since his 7th point was very, very small.
Sorry its gun but still a pretty good 6 pt. No brow tines.
Took a while to find but attached is that massive 3x3 I spoke of above... Bowkilled in 1987 and I think the highest scoring true 3x3 in P&Y... Info said 140-2/8" NET score, guess it grossed over 150"...
Thanks for the linky Dirk Diggler… BTW, what state of kill?... Thanks
My son was 15 years old when this 6pt got the shaft. Can't wrap my hands completely around the bases...and had to mount in full sneak to keep the tines out of the ceiling, LOL!
Lol @ JohnMC.... I was thinking a similar thing.
Here is one I took a few years ago on public land here in NY with my longbow. He dressed out at over 190#s putting him around 250# of the hoof.

One I killed a while back. It’s my biggest 6
Hitman, that's interesting that you mention your buck having the 3 pt antler on the opposite side the year previous. The 11 point I shot this year had done the same thing from the year before. Not only were the number of points opposite, but the characteristics of the antlers went along with it. Like looking in a mirror.
This is a Nebraska archery buck from a few years back
The 6 pter would not have been legal in our 300 zone in Mn., has to have 4pts on one side. My son shot a large 6 pter several years ago that was out of the 4 pt zone, dressed out 212# Great looking deer.
My buddy from Ohio shot a slammer 6 huge mass scored 138"
Gotta love those big 6's!! Some really awesome pics here.
This is a buck I took in PA back in 2004 I believe
Big 6's and 5 pt elk are anomalies! Some of the bucks posted above are incredible! This is my best 6. NJ suburban jumbo.
B2K... I found that mirror effect so interesting! My taxidermist says he had never even heard of it and thought that we had 2 different bucks.... I said that it was like had switched antlers and everything and the odds of 2 identical bucks living that long and in the same area would be like winning the lotto...... Maybe I should go buy a ticket!
ki-ke - Brute of a buck, CONGRATs... You happen to get it scored?... Thanks...
One I killed on a military base in VA a few years back. If I remember right he scored around 115”. Biggest 6 I ever saw in the woods.
Lee
3x3 Coues buck, Does this count? Not large but dynamite comes in little packages.
3x3 Coues buck, Does this count? Not large but dynamite comes in little packages.
One im after (main frame 6) Passed him last yr
ki-ke, what part of the Garden state?
One I have been watching for the last couple years.
shot it in 2016 while walking to my spot
The 6 pt. from N.E. Ohio was take by Ron Osborne at just over 140. He also took the jr. hole in the horn buck. Then a friend of his took an 8 pt. that went well over 180. I did measure a 6 pt. about 10 years ago for OBBBC that scored 150. That was at the deer and turkey show. That deer was taken about 30 miles west of Columbus, Oh. crossbow.
Here's what was the world record true 3x3 looked like, at least at the time. This old photo of mine doesn't mention the score however.
P.S. I consider the true 3x3 a fork-horn with brows. You have to divide the main beam into thirds to get your 4 circumference measurements. That is the other challenge insofar as beams tend to web out between tines and give larger mass measurements.
This is the largest set of main frame six point sheds I've ever picked up. Never really shot a big one either. These came from the famous Hashknife ranch in Kansas back in my early twenties...……..Don't remember the score but I keep thinking it was in the 140's. The bases were 6.5 inches and has long main beams. Old buck.
I have a buddy who shot one back in the late 80's. He calls it his 2X6 as it is 24"s wide(inside) and a clean 6pt. Has 27" main beams and believe it scored right around 132"s. I am trying to get him to send me a pic. so I can post it. Shawn
My Coues 6, like Paul! ;-) Love big 'Forks'!!!
Hunted this one for a season. Horse of a deer that gave me the slip out on the prairie.
You would have let them walk in the AP Zone, one side need to have 4 its.
My son shot a big 6pt several years ago and it would have to walk in the zone are were we live, now they a had a big shoot for CWD, so much for the AP Zone.
those are all 3pointers where I come from.
That Six Pack buck is WOW! Hashnife buck ain’t bad either! Lee
This is a big 6 I passed this year, I gave him the pass, hopefully this season he will put on a bunch more size, be the biggest 6 I ever took. Passed him the last 2 years.
Sorry they are sideways
Sorry they are sideways
Heres one I hunted this yr never layed eyes on him
ROUGHCOUNTRY - Curious what that buck scored?
Boreal's Link
Here's info on some of the largest 6 points ever measured.
Just saw a mount of the world record 6 point from Wisconsin at the Deer Classic today. Incredible buck!
Boreal’s link shows the top 5 six pointers measured.
Thanks for link Boreal...
"The 6 pter would not have been legal in our 300 zone in Mn., has to have 4pts on one side. My son shot a large 6 pter several years ago that was out of the 4 pt zone, dressed out 212# Great looking deer. "
APR was a really stupid law in that Zone, now look at what the CWD hunt will do to that area. Larger 6 pt. that can make P &Y illegal? Gimme a break. Think overall mass, the status of the hunter ( who didn't shoot a 6 pt as a youth??), opportunity ( sometimes the 6 pt give you a better shot than the huge doe), first harvest, etc. all for an "opinion" that all 6 pts grown to something bigger. The reality may be they never will have more than 6 or it was once a 10 or an 8 and now is an old ragged 6...past his prime. Shoot'em if you want, don't let some SE MN lobby group working with DNR dictate the regs. Look what it got them??
score 114 5/8 had a twin that I jumped up while tracking it same exact 6point shape maybe that is what was the deal on the reversed rack that was talked about
4 year chase….hopefully it ends this year.
Wow...those are some big 6pt'ers.
This is the biggest 6pt I ever harvested. I got it last year (rifle). He had a big body.
Nice MA PA that is an awesome 6. I’d take that over an 8!
There was a 4pt restriction where I live and the Big 6 would have had to walk. My son shot a Big 6 out of the restricted zone and it was aged at 5yrs old, big body.
Election day 2020 public land
Pope and young 6pt here 8" bases. Followed him for 6-7 yrs figured he disappeared around 10yrs old
Ki-ke that is a great 6 point! Funny how many guys post bucks that are not 6 points or even “main frame” sixes.
Chased him for a few years with no luck
Rifle kill from high school. Was my first "big buck". Still one of the biggest bodied deer I've seen come from that property I grew up hunting.
Many of those 6pts above are better than than quite a few 8pt's I've seen.
Wisconsin Buck from a number of years ago. !55" or 156" can't remember
Wow, Gun! That is a brute! World class 6 pointer.
Pine Acres...
Pine Acres...
Here is an unusual 6 point. The first buck I ever killed... 1979. I call him "The Hook".
Some great 6 pts!
Gun, that is a stunner! Did you know he was a 6 when you shot him? Seems almost impossible.
I didn't shoot that buck. My brother sent me that years ago. The guy was from the same town. I shot one w a recurve but only scored 109" He was six years old and hardly ever visible
Hey Spike, how much did that big 6-pointer weigh?
Big 6 and doe taken the same morning. 136 and change, can't recall if it was net or gross.
11/2020. It doesn't look like it, but he has a 20" outside spread. I think my 6'6" self makes it look smaller than it is.
Thought this one was a big 6, but he has an 1 1/2" tine on his right, no match on left.
Ok, not actually a 6, he grew another point on his left this year. Last year he was a six. He's a beast body wise and definitely on the hit list.
Wisconsin rifle buck, around 2007.
Top is a 140" 8 point I shot compared to the 133" 6 point a neighbor found.
