Let’s say you’re looking at photos of a vintage bow with tri-draw wheels, I think that’s the name. They’re round wheels with 3 cable slots that change the drawlenth in 1” increments. If the bow’s specs are missing, can you tell the draw range 28-30 from 30-32 by just by looking at size of wheels? The guy who owns the bow isn’t an archer and can’t help me. Thanks in advance.

Bow model? Picture? Depending on the boq you tell from the wheel diameter.

Wheel size in relation to ATA length determines draw length.

Are you talking about a Bear Whitetail Hunter model bow?

A Jennings, Bear or Wing brand that bow that had wheel(s) attached to either riser or limb or both?

We need some photos to see what you are trying to describe.

1-7/8 were roughly 28, 2" were 29, then 2-1/8 but as xman pointed out it the geometry of the bow.

Hoyt had the same tri draw cams.

I would like one of the slots to be 28”, preferably the middle slot

I don’t know the Grizzly XLR axle to axle, but the guy said he measured bow at 46” from end to end.

pull it back and you'll know if it's close

It’s on the internet - not local. I asked the the guy to draw and mark an arrow . Still waiting to hear back.

The wheels will have a number or letter on them that designated size. Call bear/Jennings tomorrow and tell them the bow and wheel size and they will give you draw length.

I just learned that Grizzly XLR is 44” axle to axle. I have a hunch it’s actially set at 30” and adjusts 29-31”. The peak draw weight is still legible at 65# and back then, everybody stood 90 degrees from target and with bow arm held straight out and locked at elbow. A 28” draw bow was not very common.

Thanks for the info, guys. I’m certain now it’s 29-31” and set on 30”.
