'morning All,
I headed out for my Last Hunting Trip of the year to the NER in Jackson Hole, not a bad place to end the year.
Also the last Elk Hunting trip for my 2010 F350/V-10 as it is kissing 97,000 miles and I have a C/D maturing in February that is ear marked for a new 2019 F350.

On the way to Check-In @ the Cabin, I had to take a pic of the Tetons!
Some nice Bull Elk on the NER (National Elk Refuge)
Good luck! Thanks for the pic's, I love that area!
I finally made it to the Cabin, nice and toasty inside.
Long day driving but very enjoyable scenery wise.

That looks like the Cowboy Cabins in JH... Stayed in them before. Nice hunt to you. More pics please. Here I am above the NER, a couple springs ago. Over looking JH and the ski area in town there.
Love that area.
Went there on my honeymoon and did my first elk hunt north of town.
A bit of a highjack... but I was flipping channels the other evening and came across this show called Higher. It was an episode where a few guys roped their way up to the summit of Grand Teton and skied down the Otterbody. I had not even known there was a ski-able route, and having seen the Grand a number of times, find it rather amazing. Your pic brought that back to the front of my mind. Cool place to be for sure, and I always enjoy seeing fresh pictures.
Love the Tetons, made a stop there myself in September on the way home from my elk hunt. hope you had a great hunt Robb, looking forward to the rest of the story!
No doubt the Jackson area is beautiful. But it can definitely get cold! I had a good hunt this fall. A good time scouting and relaxing in August.
I haven't been through there in probably 15 years, I need to get back up that way. Can't wait to read about your hunt!
Awesome Rob, good luck bud!
ElkNut/Paul
Jenny Lake at the base, just another view of the Grand.
I ordered a 2018 F250 last February Bull.....you are going to like the 2019. It took until mid-April to get mine made and take delivery on it. I like this new one even better than the F250 I had before that one. Lots more cool technology......I love the camera in back...I can pin point position that trailer hitch within a 1/2 inch. I highly recommend the heated seats and remote start.
Looking forward to the rest of the story.

Did your snotcicles melt off since you sent me the pic the other day, Rob
I killed my mountain lion about an hour south of there. Some of the most beautiful country I’ve ever seen out there.

Funny, I ran into this youtube live cam in the center of Jackson Hole the other day.
Any bison close to the refuge yet? I have a bull tag and am getting a little nervous!
I’m in a 2017 F250 now. My 2003 F350 diesel had 349,000 on it when I got rid of it. The new one is a dream!
Great Pictures folks. Judy grabbed this from a Realtor web coming back from a Moose hunt last year. It was overcast when they went thru there.
Joe, you're looking taller under the antler arch
Great pics,beautiful area.Never been there + for bucket list/hunt.
Watched a show recently about the Tetons. Named by some very lonely French explorers...... said Teton was French for titties! How Grand!
Looking forward Robb. Thanks for takin' us along!
Been a few years, but after our elk hunt (for 3 years in a row) we would go in past the Teton village and cow call and bugle for fun with the elk - was a blast. Bring on the pics Robb.

I got about 100 yards from this herd of Buff out past the gate on Mormon Row rd.

Great Pix fella's!!
Thanks for the heads-up on the newer F350's, I am on the Build Your Truck link via ford.com
Joe did ya ride the Hog out to JH or just trailer it?
They have had those Jackson Hole Cams for a few years now, they have a few that overlook the NER too.
The Buff are hangin' closer but I personally did not see any on the NER
Good luck, Robb

The link for the web-cams....
Not sure if it is the same as yours Toby?
Plenty of wind and cold no doubt!
Something very Refreshing about it though......
Some decent Bull Moose
I got with in 50-ish yards but didn't want to screw with them and bump 'em out/off.
Thanks for viewing All
Finish up in the AM----->
Good luck, Robb
Looks like tons of fun, Robb!
First thing I thought was, nice truck! Funny cause the next second I read your getting rid of it. Somebody will get a good deal hopefully, 97k is nothing on that motor if it’s been taken care of.
Beautiful place! Brings back memories of where my wife and I spent our honeymoon. Fished lake Jenny and caught some great cutthroat. Can't wait to get back some day.
Best of luck, Robb!

Thanks!
Every 3K an oil change since having 18 miles on the F350 when I bought it and I wax it twice a year.
I bought the F350 in June 2010, so my new 2019 will prolly get to me from the factory April/May? so I have had a great run with it for like 9 years, ( I have always had good fortune with trucks built at the Kentucky Ford plant)
Good luck, Robb
My timing was off a pinch this year for getting better pix of the winter range Sheep.
I hunt the South Unit as it is restricted to Short Range type weapons, Bow, Muzzy or Shotgun.
I have been using my recurve on all my bow hunts this year.
This year, kinda like last year most of the elk on the South Unit stayed out of boundary to far west.
So I went to the North Unit with my Recurve.
The closest I got to my self restricted 25-30 yards Recurve arrow shot was this lil-Spike on the North Unit, backside quakies and pines, looking down on Kelty.
1 of my most Fav pix of the whole year.
I had a great trip, no harvest, but a great trip.
Got some Shopping done, not very much Bar Hopping!
Ate @ my go-to meal.
Thanks All for taking the time to view my trip-thread.

I love Bubba's. Best baked beans in these United States.
Great story! Love the pics!
Good stuff ...been to the Grand Tetons a couple times ...giving me the itch to go back.
Rode the steel horse Robb. It’s a long haul but having it out there is priceless. Trading it on a new one next week.
Thanks for taking us along, Rob!
Are you sticking with a regular cab on your new truck, or going with an extended cab?
Robb, what tires do you have on that truck? Looking for a new set for my ‘14.
Great Stuff Robb !!!
Cheers, Pete
Thanks Robb. That brought back some memories for sure. My wife and I spent our honeymoon there back in ‘97. Thank you for the pics
Was showing my wife the pictures. Told her that is were we will be this summer. My wife and I are retiring this summer. We are planning a trip out west.
How do you draw a tag at NER? was in Jh and Jenny lake once in my life, a long time ago and loved it. Would always love to hunt there one day, but no clue how
Thanks for the kind words.
Nice Rides Joe!
Mr. t - roy-------> My '99 was a 4-door but I went back to the Reg cab on my'05 and on this '10. I kinda like 'em…..
Jim ~~ I am a Toyo guy, on the F350 I go 18's x 35's, MT's from mid-October thru mid-May, then AT's for summer I don't think a guy can go wrong with any Name Brand tire.
On my '17 JP, I have 20's and AT's for summer and 18's with MT's for winter.
bghunter, I'll toss ya a PM with the Intel.
Thanks again All
Good luck, Robb
