Bowhunters of Wyoming Tag Raffle
Elk

Hi all and Happy New Year!
Bowhunters of Wyoming is once again raffling off a Commissioners Tag. This one for 2019. Please see attached flyer for information or ask questions on here. Also please note the 2nd and 3rd prize offered for the first time.
Once again, thank you to all Bowsiters as you guys are the ones that really make this thing work and allow us to complete many projects for Wyoming's wildlife, habitat and access. Thanks Pat for always being supportive of our efforts! Ron
Can you buy online? Can’t seem to find it or at least from my phone. Thanks
Ok figured it out. I am in. Thanks!
Thanks Ron I am in. Did you guys ever hear how the person did that bought all the tickets last year?
I'm in and renewed my Bowhunters of Wyoming membership. Thanks for making it easy to renew.
Steve, I have not personally heard how the tag recipient fared last year. Maybe someone else will chime in?
sitO's Link
Here's a link to purchase on line, thanks Bowhunters of WY!
Perfect!!
Thanks for the heads-up Ron
Good luck, Robb
I will keep everyone updated on ticket sales when I get the updates from the treasurer. Thanks for your support in the past and in the future.
hi just wondering if a person drew and wanted the elk tag are you still not allowed in wilderness areas if non-res.?
Good question lamb, I’m betting on not allowed without an outfitter.
Lamb, yes you won't be allowed in wilderness unless you have guide or a resident friend with you. The resident must have documentation from the G&F as a resident guide.
lamb, It's just for a tag. All other laws are still in effect we don't control any of that.
Any Buff tickets going to be available this year?
Thanks
Good luck, Robb
The Buff license was a special deal that came about last year. I believe we can only get one of those in a lifetime but could be wrong. The V.P. (who's running for Pres. this year) worked really hard for a couple of years to get that one done.
did the buffalo tag winner even us it? I think its was a guy from in mass and he said he couldn't make the hunt?
I think he was looking to sell it last time I heard anything about it (which is legal).
Thanks for the follow-up on the Buff raffle Jeff.
Good luck, Robb
I just bought my ticket. You guys should just save your money :-)
I just bought my ticket. You guys should just save your money :-)
102 tickets sold as of this morning
Two more just now:-)
Good luck to everyone in the drawing!
The buff tag was sold as Joshua was unable to make it. I’m not sure who he sold the tag to.
Got mine. Just a donation I’m sure, I never win anything! Fun to dream though!!
Bought my 2. Good cause in a state I love to hunt in.
The contact with the buyer was made on here so may be an active member. That tag is valid though this month, correct?
So are we far enough along in the sale of tickets to be assured that someone with deep pockets won't buy all the remaining tickets and give us 1-2 ticket guys a shot? I see there's a limit of 10 tickets per transaction but does anything stop someone from doing 40 transactions?
I'm in for a bull. I recently bought a Stupid Tax Ticket (Powerball) and won $8 so I'm feeling very skilled at this type of drawing.
Lost Arra- I refer to state lotteries as the “Redneck Retirement Program “
I believe the buff tag is good through this month. Quinn, with better than 1/4 of tickets sold so far, I doubt deep pockets will jump in and try to sway the odds in their favor. If they want a tag that bad, I'm sure they would just get one in an auction now. That said, the limit is 10 tickets per transaction, so technically someone could purchase 10 in multiple transactions.
Thanks again everyone for your purchases! Ron
Missed this so far, but just got my name in the hat!
Bringing this back to the top. We still have plenty of tickets to sell. Here's a good chance to get in the game if you missed applying for a tag. For those that did apply, it's also a chance to win and have a second elk tag to hunt.
Thanks for the reminder Ron.
I've been so busy and getting other applications done/submitted, I kinda forgot to get my Raffle Tix!!!
Good luck, Robb
Just entered! Thanks for the reminder
Picked up a few. If I draw I hope its transferable cause my wife really wants to shoot an elk. She wants an elk pretty bad and I've lucked out and got a couple good ones already.
Good luck to everyone in the draw.
Branden, the tag is transferrable so your wife would be able to hunt if you transfer it to her. Thanks guys for buying tickets. We'll be funding many projects again this year thanks to everyone here.
t-t-t
Thanks
Good luck, Robb
Thank you to those that have purchased tickets, we appreciate it.
@ Quinn - it shouldn't matter who buys how many tickets. If you buy 1 ticket, you have a 1 in 400 chance of winning. The odds of losing are 399/400 no matter if that means 399 guys or 1 guy with 399 tickets. Or am I missing something?
How many tickets did you have available last year?
Xbow I think he means if 100 tickets are sold to 100 guys and 300 tickets are sold to 1 guy the odds are the big spender will win. It doesn't change my odds like you explained. But for some reason most hunters are against guys that spend more then they do winning.
I got my 2. It would be great to see a bowsiter win and post a good story about it. Either way good luck to everyone.
The issue is the intent of the raffle is not only to garner revenue but to create awareness to the cause and a sense of involvement or stake in the issue or organization. Just look at bowsite for example, guys not only buy tickets they join and look foward to the opportunity to participate. If it's just about spending money then eff it and auction everything off to highest bidder. There is plenty of that going around and quite frankly in the end we will see it has done more harm then good.
300 tickets is the most we've ever offered until this year. 100% of funds go right back to projects so we thought we'd reach for a little more revenue this year. Who knows if it will work, but that is BOW's goal.
got my ticket. someday.......
Better get 'em now, before the non-ressy Draw results come out this week as they will go fast after the results!!
Good luck, Robb
The closer I look at my draw odds and point creep, the more I prefer my chances in the BOW raffle. Besides, I got two nice decals and a newsletter since I joined BOW. Wyo G&F sends me a partial refund.
Put me down for one, that is all you need to win. Although after I draw I will need to figure out how to hunt in 2 elk units at the same time.
I think you can use both tags in the same unit Steve, geez, I wonder which unit that would be!! haha
2 of my most Fav hunters are Guest Speakers @ the Banquet.
Some Guy named Lou-----------> <;-) (or is that an old Johnny Cash song?)
And the guy most of us grew up watching and learning from ~~Wayne Carlton!
Good luck, Robb
Grasshopper you can use this tag in the same area as the one you applied for, no problem there. Lost Arra thanks for becoming a member as well as supporting the raffle. Robb, should be a great banquet with the speakers and everything else lining up nicely!! We were told Wayne won't be doing very many more speaking engagements so we are delighted to have him again. Thanks for everyone's support.
206 tickets sold so far. We usually sell quite a few after the non-resident elk draw so hopefully that trend continues. Thanks again everyone.
Well for those that didn't draw here's still your chance!!!! And for those that did draw you can win this one and have two tags in your pocket to fill.
I got mine #193 & my Renewal membership last week, so they are selling more now!
Good luck, Robb
Is it legal to have two tags for elk during the same year in Wyoming?
Wilbur, Yes!!!!! With this tag it's perfectly legal.
Great, that would certainly make for an eventful year of elk hunting.
Thanks for the info.
Mine was ticket #58. I heard that’s the winning number - but go ahead and buy some anyway they need the support!
just picked up 2!!!!! does this work statewide and do you have to declare the unit that you wish to hunt in?
I'm in....can't win if you don't play!
They are statewide and yes you must declare an area to use it in. See the specific rules in Ron's original post. Thanks.
Done and excited to send my money to Wyoming. 100% of the money used judiciously. I can't say the same for my Native Utah. I think by the time all of the "Administrative fees" and "processing fees" that are done in the name of our "Conservation and Convention tags" that end up in the hands of our so called "sportsman groups" using those means we are lucky to get 80% of the money to actually have a meaningful impact let alone hit the ground. Thank you Bowhunters of Wyoming for the example.
+1 Shaft!
Good luck, Robb
You will receive another email with your actual ticket number. Thanks for the support!
Well we're down to the final 3 weeks before the banquet, get them while you can. Thanks.
We need your help Bowsite members!!!! Only 233 tickets sold as of Sunday morning. While it's nice to have better odds we need the sales for projects. Thanks to those that have purchased tickets!!!
Just got in! Plus the Bowtech target bow raffle, renewed my membership, and a hat! :-)
What is the last day one can buy raffle tickets?
When is the last day to buy tix and when is the drawing?
Drawing is March 23rd. at the banquet in Cheyenne probably around 8:00 pm. I would say the last day to do the on-line would be March 21st since the Treasurer will be traveling on the 22nd and setting up for the banquet. We could probably do a credit card over the phone from the banquet (on the22nd/ 23rd) but don't quote me on that. Thanks.
This was almost to the bottom of the page. WY Bowhunters puts ALL the money to the wildlife, these need to get sold out.
Other items that have tickets available as well that will drawn the same night are a Bowtech bow, a Yellowstone longbow, a Pronghorn longbow and a Yeti cooler but the money from this tag is all earmarked for conservation.
Just got one for myself and one for a friend. B.O.W. is a great organization that supports our passion. Lets get these tickets sold !
Where can the tickets be purchased for the longbow’s?
I can e-mail or fax you raffle tickets that you fill out and send in or you can contact the treasurer at (307)655-9405
[email protected]
Just bought another, great cause and someones gotta win. Curious if you sell these tickets at the actual banquet as well. My ticket number was 280 so still a few left.
Yep, we will sell them at the banquet as well as long as we have them. My guess is we won't sell all 400 tickets. I'm hoping they will have the live drawing on our Facebook again but can't promise that. Thanks for purchasing tickets!!!!!!
Just got word that some members have really been out selling these. Ballpark 50+- left to go!
Little over a week left to get tickets!!!! Thanks!!!!
I hope this raffle changes my current 2019 elk hunting plans!
I hope so too!!! Or at least someone here on Bowsite!!!
Bought four of them earlier this week. Fingers crossed, but regardless of the outcome, a good way to support good folks doing good things.
54 tickets left, last week to purchase them. Drawing is Sat. 23rd. Get them while you can!! Thanks everyone for purchasing and to Pat for letting us advertise this raffle!!!
Just went on th website and got another ticket.
Ok guys, hook a brother up! I've got my phone on and charged ready for this evenings call!
Last night they were down to 21 tickets left per Susan. Hopefully a bowsiter is the lucky one!
Your gonna be waiting for a loooong time Steve! That call is coming my way! Lol
Good luck to everyone in the hopper! Will be waiting with baited breath...
.25% it's a lock for someone ....
Any tickets left before the big draw?
All the tickets have been sold. Good luck everyone.
Sweet!!! I have two...can someone at the banquet please call me at BR549 when they draw my number!-)
I got some back in early Jan but didn’t receive any numbers or tickets, just a confirmation email.
I hope that’s a sign of some good luck tonight!!
Good luck everyone.
Seriously? Congrats to the "master"!
Yep, he and I road tripped up from Kansas and he got it! I even won a Stone Glacier I might get to pack out his commissioner bull with. Great weekend!
Dang! Just knew I was gonna get the call! Congratulations! Hope he finds a whopper!
Congrats Matt!!
Thanks for the Opportunity BOW to enjoy daydreaming and for helping to put some $$ on the ground in Wyoming.
Good luck, Robb
Wow, Matt....congrats! There better be a Bowsite story!
That’s awesome . Congrats Matt
I’ll bet Jason can “pull some strings” and find you a good goat hunt for that tag! ;). Congrats again Matt...
Congrats, Matt! Going to be a hell of an adventure!
What an ahole that matt is...Congrats!
Kansas boys cleaned up last night. Congrats Matt!
Very nice! Congratulations, Matt!
Couldn't have happened to a better guy. Congrats again buddy
Grats Matt, we all look forward to hearing about it!
It was frigging sweet having someone win it that was actually there! Besides being jealous, it was pretty damn exciting. Congrats Matt!
Thanks everyone!! And thanks BOW! Still in shock:)
Wow congrats Matt! I always hope the winner is a bowsiter! You better know we expect a play by play!!!
Matt, I think you should use this special tag for a whitetail so you can finally get that species off your list!
;-)
After studying Matt and kaleb for the weekend I’ll pass along what looks to be the secret to success. First incredible adherence to the highest standards of clean living I’ve ever witnessed. Good nights rest. And both being great guys. Hopefully they got my son on the straight and narrow. I’m sure thankful for their efforts to keep him from going down the wrong path v
Lol!! No one will buy that Story Randy:)
Look, we believe you won the commissioners tag, Matt, but nobody is buying what that Randy fella just said. ;)
We were able to fund over $31,000 on projects with help from these funds so thanks to everyone who purchased tickets hopefully we will do it again next year!!! Thanks to Pat for letting us post this on Bowsite!!!
