Starting this year, you will not have the option to add the point fee to your Elk/Deer/Antelope apps. If you want a point, you will need to buy it during the pp only period, July - October, provided you did not draw your 1st choice on a full price license.
Too many phone calls from confused non residents.......
Sheep/Moose points are still mandatory and that fee is required at time of application.

That's great because a lot of people thought that paying for that point when they applied for their tag gave them that point for the draw that year when it isn't good until the following year. It's explained right in the booklet like a lot of other stuff that people still end up asking about out on various forums.

don't forget the add. 2.5% CC fee added now. Like WY nonresident prices arent insane enough

This is a good thing. People will forget to buy points which will help with point creep.

Please quit complaining because NR fees are high in every state or do you only look at Wyoming?! FYI last year was the first time in ten years that any fees were raised so it's not they are going up every time you turn around even though it may seem like it!

I am not complaining... well I guess I am, I was just told that I could not avoid convenience fee by submitting application fee in person with cash. When applying for several species and paying CC fees for the high dollar animals it can get rather expensive!

I have applied in 8 or mores western states for the past 13 years. I have pretty good handle on the cost on WY vs any other state. If you applied across the board WY has the highest none refundable fees of any state, with Montana being a close second. Now with Co making some changes their sheep and moose draws they may close to the top as well.

Yes WY is expensive for NR's....just like Montana and a few other states. As hunter numbers continue to decline....keep those high NR license costs in mind. IMO....that isn't helping the situation.

I don’t know about this “As hunter numbers continue to decline”. I do know that my drawing a WY NR GEN tag is a lot harder than it used to be.

Pirogue, you can thank all the YouTube hero’s for a good part of that...

Oh man....I'll bet this screws a few guys who may not be paying close attention. I just went through the entire app process for elk, and unless I missed it, there's no mention about PP's nor this new procedure at any step during the process.

Exactly Greg. This is one of the reasons I check Bowsite daily, so that I don't miss things like this. How much you wanna bet that this time next year, there's a few "wtf" posts as people realize they just slipped back by a year in the creep race? WY is gonna lose money because of this change, they just don't realize it yet.

Even Huntin' Fool has missed it thus far. Nothing about the change in their January e-mag that was just published, which covers Wyoming & Arizona.

Youtube hero's huh? Really? I would say there are plenty of "hero's" everywhere on the good ole interweb... (including here) Done more to damage hunting in the west than any other single factor. A thousand times worse than wolves.

Have you thought about having your own blog on western hunting applications?

Question for the experts.... If I draw a cow tag, can I still buy a pp in 2019?
From: midwest

If you draw any tag that is not first choice or a RP cow/calf tag, you retain your points and can purchase a point for the next year.
