Cell phone camera trick
I found a trick last fall while deer hunting...
Most new phones allow you to use voice control (My phone is a Galaxy S8). Once you turn it on, you just say "cheese" or "shoot" and it will take pictures. With my deer, I just kept saying "cheese" while moving around. I took 10 pictures in a minute or so. It let me get a bunch of different poses without messing with a traditional timer...
A small tripod and cell phone clamp is also needed but those are really cheap on Amazon.
What will they think of next?
Also a good for when you are digiscoping.
Dang! That is actually a good tip rather than getting up and resetting the timer 10 times. Just tried and had to turn on the voice control in the setting, but easy peezy..
I have a cheap Bluetooth remote shutter trigger for my phone. But ever since I bought a real camera last fall, I find cell phone pics pretty cheesy.
yup thanks, great tip. Just took a bunch of pics of my key board and bowsite screen. works great.
You can also record video and go through all your poses while it records. Then capture screenshots or pics from the video. Oftentimes a good pic vs a great pic is only a frame difference.
Not sure how to get my iPhone to do that
If you want to do this with an iPhone - see link
Great tip! Learn something new every day....
Well, I'll be damned....thanks!
I have an Android. How do you turn it on to do that?
Whocares, open your camera and go to settings.
I have an iPhone 5s, old tech. You have to say "Apple with a bite taken out of it......"
It dosen't work very good with a southern accent. My damn phone is racist.
Guess I don't have that on my Moto Z. Not that this dummy can find anyway.
So help me out here I might be missing something. I say hey Siri take a photo and my phone opens up all the way to where the camera is on but doesn’t actually take the picture. Am I missing a step or is that as far as the automated process goes?
This is good for the rare occasion I have blood on my hands too ;?)
I am stuck same place and longbeard
After a search of world wide web. You can't do on a Iphone
Damn I had high hopes for this one
Evidently there is a free app you can download to do this on an iPhone.
Thanks didn't know this even works on the old S3.
Now we’re talking to our phones...
Been talking to my phone for quite a few years. LOL
I couldn't find the setting on my phone. I looked at my daughter, thinking that I might be able to tell her something she didn't know, and told her about the feature. She pointed her phone at me, said CHEESE and shook her head. Lol
Longbeard. Not possible on my iPhone se. Can get camera on but can’t take a photo with Siri
Finally figured out what Siri is, i think. But she won’t take a picture!
Works great for digiscoping
My phone will take the picture when I say "Whiskey". Much more fun than cheese.
Bohunter yes that’s as far as I got. Camera comes on when I que up Siri but won’t take the picture
Try the Hey Camera app for iPhone. Seems to work pretty well.
iPhone users...start a video...go to your hero shot position and just start doing different poses...twisting head(antlers) slowly for different views, move around yourself with different setups, etc. Make sure to pause for a second or two when you think you have the pose you want. Then edit the video, frame by frame, taking screenshots when you see ones you would like a still shot of. Takes a little time but you can get some good pictures this way that you might not have planned for. I also do the timer thing just to make sure.
Awesome tip.. Somebody Stop Me!!!
This is great! Thanks for the tip.
Yet another reason why I don't like Apple, IOS, and their proprietary closed operating system.
Jaq, you're out of date. As I said above, there are apps for iPhone that will allow you to take a photo with voice command . Just Google it.
Well, ain't that slick!
I had no idea...works like a charm...Thanks, Tim!
Da hell! And here I had been getting up 1,000 times to check the pic, readjust, etc etc. This is great!!!
I down load the Hey Camera app to my Iphone 8+. It is free and seems to work well.
And for those of us that don't have one of those newfangled phones (hey, don't judge, lol), I've done the same thing with a trail cam. Mount it to a tree, set to take as many pics as possible, sit with your trophy and keep moving it's head as how you want the pics. Worked well and only had to edit (crop) the date, time, etc out of the pics.
I just downloaded the Hey Camera app. Works fine with iPhone SE
I think hey camera will work for you.
