I found a trick last fall while deer hunting...

Most new phones allow you to use voice control (My phone is a Galaxy S8). Once you turn it on, you just say "cheese" or "shoot" and it will take pictures. With my deer, I just kept saying "cheese" while moving around. I took 10 pictures in a minute or so. It let me get a bunch of different poses without messing with a traditional timer...

A small tripod and cell phone clamp is also needed but those are really cheap on Amazon.

Also a good for when you are digiscoping.

Dang! That is actually a good tip rather than getting up and resetting the timer 10 times. Just tried and had to turn on the voice control in the setting, but easy peezy..

I have a cheap Bluetooth remote shutter trigger for my phone. But ever since I bought a real camera last fall, I find cell phone pics pretty cheesy.

You can also record video and go through all your poses while it records. Then capture screenshots or pics from the video. Oftentimes a good pic vs a great pic is only a frame difference.

So help me out here I might be missing something. I say hey Siri take a photo and my phone opens up all the way to where the camera is on but doesn’t actually take the picture. Am I missing a step or is that as far as the automated process goes?

I couldn't find the setting on my phone. I looked at my daughter, thinking that I might be able to tell her something she didn't know, and told her about the feature. She pointed her phone at me, said CHEESE and shook her head. Lol

iPhone users...start a video...go to your hero shot position and just start doing different poses...twisting head(antlers) slowly for different views, move around yourself with different setups, etc. Make sure to pause for a second or two when you think you have the pose you want. Then edit the video, frame by frame, taking screenshots when you see ones you would like a still shot of. Takes a little time but you can get some good pictures this way that you might not have planned for. I also do the timer thing just to make sure.

This is great! Thanks for the tip.

Yet another reason why I don't like Apple, IOS, and their proprietary closed operating system.

Jaq, you're out of date. As I said above, there are apps for iPhone that will allow you to take a photo with voice command . Just Google it.

And for those of us that don't have one of those newfangled phones (hey, don't judge, lol), I've done the same thing with a trail cam. Mount it to a tree, set to take as many pics as possible, sit with your trophy and keep moving it's head as how you want the pics. Worked well and only had to edit (crop) the date, time, etc out of the pics.
