Like yours, mine says it is a special elk fishing license. Never done that before, I am going to need to buy the biggest rapala they make, and get some thousand pound test line. Got any recommendations for an elk reel? Gotta practice casting soon

I am assuming that the elk tag includes fishing? Mine is a little different as it says: “fishing priv”.

Is fishing included just for elk? I had an antelope tag last year and don’t remember it including fishing.

Is that something new?

Tavis, you must have checked the box to buy the Conservation Stamp when you applied for your tag so in other words you already bought one for this year.

Those of you who don't have a Type 9 tag, don't forget to buy your Archery License and also a Special Management (feed ground) Permit where applicable. It's much easier to buy everything ahead of time online rather than try to find a place to buy licenses and permits when your on your way to go hunting.

Yea, will need to get the archery stamp.

What is the Special Management Permit? Haven't seen that one.

Is there a fee for applying for hunting permission on the Hunter Management Areas?

08-Mar-19
The Special Management Permit is for units on the western side of the state where the elk winter. I believe it helps offset the cost of managing the wintering herds on private land. I don't know if the unit that you drew requires the permit. You'll have to check the regulations.

I don't know anything about permission in Hunter Management Areas...
