I am going to be putting in a new food plot later this year and I was curios if any of you have used a soil conditioner to jump start your plots? If so what are you using? I do plan on liming and fertilizing per the soil test recommendation.
I think nutritionist on here is your man.
I think my wife uses it in her hair. But that is about all I know about conditioner.
This balances pH and adds carbon and organic matter without the need for lime. PM me for more info...
I have no experience with soil conditioners. Seems like an expensive option given you need 80lbs per 1000 sq/ft. Looks better suited for gardens than foot plots. If you're plot is 1 acre, you will need 3500 lbs. Even if it works great, I'll stick with lime, fertilizer, and disking to increase organic matter.
80lbs is the double rate, normal rate is 40-45lb or 1 ton/A. One app can be a permanent pH fix for many soils
