I’ve hunted FL for 15 yrs and have not 1 pig to show for the thousands I’ve spent tryin. We’ve shot 4 in that time and never recovered 1

You've got me worried. I don't have 15 years left. That's got to be frustrating. A lot of time and $$$ and no bacon.

This was a very promising hunt. 2 miles out in the swamp by airboat. Sign everywhere. 3 pig runs pounded into the mud coming to the clearing where I was. I even heard pigs grunting in the distance.. the problem is these guided hunts are 150 per day wether you see one or not. Then we’ll give you a break for a 100 a day after that. It ain’t cheap. And they ain’t runnin everywhere like everybody thinks. It’s as hard as deer hunting and way more expensive. The only other way would be if you lived here and had the time to figure out where they were. But now your talking public land with a season and a license . I’ve hunted fenced which you see many and they are unbelievably skittish cuz they get shot at everyday and I’ve hunted free range. Free range is the only way to go. So boys hunting wild free range pigs in FL is a tough game and unless you get real lucky be ready to spend lotso money.

I will say this guy was one of the best that I’ve hunted with all these times I’ve hunted in Fl. If you headed here pm me and I’ll give ya his name and number. He’s located around Mims... lil south of Daytona.

Do you need a license for your Florida hunt?

From: drslyr

No in Florida on private land no lic. Required. No limit and any weapon day or night . Bait lights lazer, full automatic machine guns, rocket launchers, thermal imiging grenades dam missiles. Anything goes

From: spike78

No I meant are they coming from behind and winding you without you seeing them?

From: drslyr

No spike they are definitely a by nose animal. But the setup of this hunt was perfect. Steady wind in the right direction. If they had come in downwind I would have seen them. I could see a quarter mile downwind.
