I'm heading to Texas on Friday to try my hand at the Rio Grand leg of my Turkey Slam. I can take 2 birds, but that depends on them being there and then shooting straight.
Here's hoping!

Good luck in Texas! I’ve arrowed quite a few merriams and four easterns. Going to Ks to hunt Rios next Sunday. I’m told they may be a cross with merriams, but I don’t care. I’m not chasing a turkey slam, just having fun bowhunting.

I'm headed to where that pic was taken on April 8th. A couple of those Toms are gonna meet a Spitfire (I hope).

Bob, you give new meaning to Wild Turkey on the rocks ! Congrats Sir !
Due to a couple of unforseen medical problems, I haven't gotten to go yet. That's what happens when you get old. I'm going Monday though come hell or high water !

Thanks guys. It was a perfect set up. Had a bearded hen cruise through putting. A few seconds later I heard a gobble close by and putted twice from my slate call. Then I got ready and in he came. Made a good shot, but he got up and ran changing directions several times. He made it about 100 yards before he crawled in a brush pile. Good thing I had the string tracker on or I doubt I would have found him.

Bob, I just now noticed you were at T4 Exotics. I've been there twice gathering groceries in the form of axis does :-) Dean has a great little place and is a really nice guy. It was worth the price of admission just to watch all the animals !
