Yeah, agree with what has already been said .... what a beautiful animal.

In the mount pics the facial marking colors look a very dark brown (almost black), your field pic the colors look light brown. Is that just the sun shine making it look like that?

Very nice the rarest of the oryx species.

Tell us a little more about the hunt. Google said they are found on the Arabian Peninsula. Where did you kill it?

The mount looks awesome Bill. You'll have to shuffle the mounts around again to make it fit

Thanks everyone for all the awesome comments, the Arabian oryx has always been on my list of animals i wanted to go after first saw one about 7 years ago and last year i had the opportunity and jumped on it. Spot and stalk on 20 000 ranch in utopia texas. I got lucky on day 4 and found him feeding and i madeca 28 yard shot. It was an awesome day!

There are only about a thousand in there native habitat. And they are there due to game farms suppling breeding stock as the native population was at one point near extinction with only a few animals left. Game farm stock was used to rebuild and establish wild free range herds to there native range on the Arabian peninsula. The wild population is probably not going to increase much due to loss of habitat and poachers Whereas the more common oryx numbers over 250,000 in just Namibia alone . The Golden oryx is not listed as a species or subspecies but as a color phase of the common oryx.

Thanks huntcell im very blessed to have been able to hunt one, they are beautiful and a challange to hunt. This was an old bullthat had broomed of a few inches and the battle scares and black markings on his back from fighting are cool, we hunter have done a great job with some of these species to bring. Numbers back

That's a unique looking animal. Kind of reminds me of a gemsbok with the facial markings. Not many guys have one of those. Congrats!
